I bought a bottle of Sweet Alomnd oil 2 weeks ago, in the past, I found it to be excellent in blurring the appearance of stretch marks. Recently, I have been using a a facial moisturizer. I have oily skin, larges pores, so you would think this would cause breakouts. Not so. In fact, Almond oil is so light and so gentle, you can use it on an infants skin. i mix a couple drops with water in my palm, and it is wonderful. Not greasy at all. I have had really bad experiences with moisturizers, but this works for me!

Sweet almond oil is my secret weapon against all sorts of skin conditions. I use a few drops under my facial moisturizer in the winter, and I use it regularly on my legs before applying bodylotion, which I find help keep my eczema at bay. Smile

Wow! I didn't know almond oil was used for all those things! I will have to try it on my legs this winter because they get sooo dry!

Personally, I use pure, organic sweet almond oil without any essential oils mixed in. Smile The oil is quite dry, but not as dry as jojoba oil, and I feel it is best suited for normal/dry skintypes. The smell of sweet almond oil is not very noticeable.

I really like almond oil as a body oil.

Sesame oil is really nice too, I like to mix it with essential oils and use it on cellulite-prone areas.

It also works brilliantly as an overnight hair treatment. If you apply almond oil (warmed is best) all over your hair and scalp, then sleep in a shower cap or similar, wash your hair as normal next morning and your hair will be really deeply conditioned.

hi dreamcat,

i think you are mixing up essential oils with carrier oils. carrier oils such as almond oil can be used as is on the skin. on the other hand, essential oils almost always have to be diluted before applying to the skin as they are a volatile substance. for more on the difference, i suggest you read this link:

Today I tried a sample of Burt's Bees Almond Milk Beeswax Hand Cream with sweet almond oil, and it was really nice. Smelled yummy and softened my dry hands. I was going to get it to use at work, but I found that it didn't absorb completely in right away. I think it would be great for using before bed though.
