Just a question for you, ladies (I'm amazed at how much some of you know!)
Someone told me I was not supposed to use whitening creams in summer. This doesn't make sense to me, but could it be true?
Thanks

Only reason I can think of is maybe these creams make one photo sensitive...
I stopped my tretinoin when I went to the beach...
If one does not stay away from the sun products with HQ will make discolorations worse |

There is a myth about both whitening creams and Retin-A not being used in the summer.
They both (along with other products and medications) make you more sensitive to the sun's UVA rays. UVA rays are present from sun rise to sun set 365 days a year. They are NOT stronger in the summer nor are they weaker in the winter. They are NOT stronger on sunny days. UVA rays go through clouds and windows. (You can run but you can't hide from UVA rays )You also get them from computer screens and some other appliances.
If your whitening cream is HQ 4%, you do have to stop it every now and then. It has nothing to do with the sun. It has to do with your liver. |
