I just finished using a bottle of this and am trying to decide whether to repurchase. It is supposed to be a light hydrator with benefits for oily/problematic skin types. I have been using this on and off for about a year and a half now. I just recently used it for the past month and my acne has improved. There have been other things that I have been doing that could be improving my acne so I am trying to decide if the Herbal Recovery Mist could be what is helping or if it is something else.
Here are the ingredients:
Aqua (Water); Herbal Extract Mixture from: Althaea officinalis (Marshmallow), Spilanthes acmella, Echinacea purpurea, Rosa gallica (Rose), Equisetum arvense (Horsetail), Lavandula angustifolia (Lavender), Calendula officinalis, Bellis perennis (Daisy); Glycerin; Glyceryl Cocoate; Aloe barbadensis Leaf Extract; Hydroxymethylglycinate; Citrus grandis (Grapefruit) Seed Extract; Chamomilla recutita (Matricaria) Flower Oil; Lactic Acid; Ascorbic Acid; Rosa centifolia (Rose) Flower Oil; Panthenol.
Are any of these effective for acne? I know that Calendula can be helpful but is there enough of it?
Has anyone else used this and found that it helped clear their acne?
Any opinions would be appreciated! |

I really like this product. But I only use it in the summer. It drys out my skin in the winter months. |

Lucinda do you find that it actually dries your skin or do you think that it is just not moisturizing enough?
I cannot use this by itself and always put another moisturizer on over it because I think that it is not moisturizing enough. But I did not think that it actually dried my skin. |

I haven't used this before but I have been tempted to try it. The reason I haven't tried it so far was because I thought it would not be moisturising enough. I kind of had the impression of this being a more liquidy Herbal Recovery Gel. I'm not sure if that's the case though.
Calendula is meant to be good for acne prone skin and horsetail is also good for improving skin condition overall (although I'm not sure if it has the same effect when applied topically). |

Mabsy your impression is correct. The Recovery Mist is a liquid, not like a gel at all. I have oily skin and do not find it moisturizing enough but then again I DO live in the desert!
Thanks for the information on ingredients. |

TheresaL - Here's a list of ingredients in the Herbal Recovery Gel (as posted by leeleedeedee a while back):
Water; Herbal Extract Mixture from: Rose, Chamomile, Calendula, Licorice, Black Elder, Daisy, Violet, Marshmallow, Quince, Spilanthes, Echinacea, Green Tea, Grape Seed, Turmeric; Clycerine; Alcohol; Evening Primrose Oil; Xanthan Gum; Rose Hips Oil; Jojoba Oil; Glycercl Cocoate; Aloe Extract; Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid); Hydroxymethylglycinate; Lactic Acid; Grapefruit Seed Extract; Vitamin E (Tocopherol); Rose Oil; Chamomile Oil.
I was going to suggest that you try this instead but I see that while there are some similarities, it's not the same. Still, it is a very nice product that you should find more moisturising than the mist. But I am not sure in terms of acne improvement. |

Mabsy I just got a sample of the gel with my EDS order and I plan on trying it. I have tried samples of this in the past and it irritated my skin but I was using benzoyl peroxide at the time and I am not using that now. I agree that the Herbal Recovery Gel is a very nice product! I will have to see if it agrees with my skin now that I am not using the BP. |

Please let me know what you think. I'd love to know how the gel and the mist compare! |

Mabsy judging from the samples of the Herbal Recovery Gel that I used in the past, irritation issued aside, I prefer the gel to the mist. The gel left a nice smooth finish while the mist left a very slight sticky feeling. When I used the mist any moisturizer that I applied over it would feel greasier but with the gel I could apply moistruizer over it and not have this problem. When I first started using Jurlique I started with the mist and not the gel. I think I would have switched to the gel if it did not irritate my skin. I am hoping that now that I am not using the BP my skin will be able to tolerate the gel. I will have to wait and see... |

Thank you! So, it's not necessarily less moisturising than the gel then it would appear. I hope you don't have any irritation this time around but be careful with trying it.... |

Thanks Mabsy. I did not find the gel to be very irritating just slightly so I am not too worried about having a strong reaction but I will be carefull anyway! |
