Hi,
Can anyone recommend a cleanser with AHA?
I've been using retin A for 1 yr, so my skin is quite sensitive now... the reason i would like to incorporate glycolic acid into my skincare is that i've recently started doing ocm (~ 1 month now), as well as trying out DHCC, and my skin has all sorts of whiteheads now, which is simply driving me mad...! (I've been trying to get as close to natural and "minimalistic" as possible in terms of my skincare). I had some MD Forte Glycare cleanser left over and last night I decided to use it after another despairing OCM session, and I was quite pleased...
Any recs on the best glycolic products/ brands out there?
-thanks! |

I use the MD Forte brand. 20% and I love it. I use it after my daily exfoliant with the Clarsonic brush. I then put the glycl. on my brush and let sit for a few minutes....I can almost feel it working, I did start out with the smallest %, which was 10% I believe. I did not see any results so I moved up to 20% with no side effects. I know I have read several posts where people w/ sensitve skin have to build up a tolerance. |

I've used the MD Formulations one before. It was effective but I found it more drying than the PCA Skin AHA cleanser. The PCA works as well for me but seems less drying. HTH |

Thanks bergquis & Mabsy
I am really not sure whether to stop OCM altogether now and start using an AHA cleanser at least for now, until those horrible whiteheads and 'bumps' clear up!
The only benefit I am getting from the use of oils (for cleansing, and emu or jojoba for moisturizing) is that it counteracts the dryness from tretinoin... |

I use md forte, as well. It is not a 'fun' cleanser to use, but I always go back to it because I get great results. I used their glycare cleanser for years and I just decided to move up to the III cleanser. I prefer the texture of the glycare and will probably go back to it after I finishe the III cleanser. I also use it with my clarisonic in the morning with great results. I use the glycare II lotion in the morning. I thought about using the regular III lotion, which is a bit stronger, but the price wasn't worth it. I can get the glycare II for $15 and the III lotion is $38. |
