Okay, I need your help. After reading reviews about PSF, I'd love to try their retinol product. It's one ingredient I'm not using right now and I think it might be beneficial to my skin.
SOoOOo ... my question is ... should I start at the .5% or go for the 1%? I've used retinols in the past and years ago was on Retin-A and my skin doesn't seem to react badly to things like that (my skin isn't very sensitive). I'm just leary of buying the .5% incase it's not strong enough, but then also leary of buying the 1% incase it's too strong.
Has anyone tried either of them and could offer some advice? Or even if you haven't tried them, what are your thoughts?
I also read so many great things about the 02 Rescue Serum, but currently I'm using the Juice Beauty Blemish Clearing Serum which I like ... would they both do similar things? In which case, I wouldn't try the 02 now .. maybe down the road when I'm done the JB serum.
I have combo skin, cheeks can get dry with too harsh products, blackheads/clogged pores in my t-zone area.
Thanks! |

I would think if you have tried this kind of product before without problem, then 1% would be fine.
The PSF site gives great info on the cycle for use.
I used my .5% sample for 4 or 5 nights running (first time with this kind of product) and had absolutely no problem |

Moonstarr I have never used the PSF retinol but IMO if your skin tolerated RetinA with no problems then you should be able to use the 1% retinol. Some questions to consider. What percentage of RetinA did you use? What was the percentages for the retinol products that you used in the past? Are you doing anything to your skin now (AHAs, Vitamin C, etc.) that might make your skin more sensitive to retinoids/retinol? |

Hi Moonstarr!
I received a sample of the PSF .5% Retinol with an order about six months ago...really liked it and had no irritation, so I stepped up to the 1% and have been using it ever since with great results! Tiger_tim has an excellent suggestion to check the PSF website for info...and if you still need more feedback, I'd e-mail their customer service folks. I've bugged them many times with questions, and they never fail to provide a prompt and helpful answer!

also remember that you could always buffer the 1% with a moisturiser until you're confident you can go full strength. |

Perfect! Thanks for the replies. I think I'll add the 1% to my shopping cart for my next order. I can't wait to try it! |
