HI La Vie,
I'm just running to help, as the Hungarian in charge here in EDS. In the another forum we discussed the line "Ilcsi" already, so if you're fancy, check out and ask when any further help is needed (www.ilcsi.com - with english section too). For food issues : the original Hungarian food is quite heavy (made with lard, spicy with chilly and pepper, lots of meat and sweet dishes) - however during the recent few years some tries to cook on the finer side. How long are you going to stay, where, do you have a program already ? Just let me know if you need any help or restaurant/hotel recommendations, whatever. (I'ma very food-interested person, a passionated cook myself)

lin23,
we will be there for about 4 1/2 days (some of it work-related). i don't know where we're staying, though my BF requested something centrally located.... since you're a passionate cook (as i've become), are there any regional spices i should look for that i can only get there? thank you, by the way, for all your input.

I'm a soup person - so really enjoyed their goulash (of course!). And yes, some of their food is heavy, but anything is moderation is fine in my books. If you like spicier food, I would aim to pick up some of their paprika.

I also tried a really food chicken hash there - meat, potatoe and veggies done up in a cast iron pan (and served it in to!).

Hi La Vie,
So, just finished the "phone-conference" with my friends in Budapest - they love the following items:
"black soap", rosehip whip-moisturizer, sorb-apple whip moist., rosehip and maize exfoliator, before event mask .
If you give me your hotelname, I can tell you in which cosmetic studio you can buy them (send me a p.m.).
In few weeks I'll be in BP again, I must buy some of the above as well . . . (the masks sound good, and the whips as well - don't they?!)

Yeah, they are so yummy! It really depends on your skin type though. If you have sensitive skin then the herbal mud treatment or the stimulating lime mask is out. Pumpkin and orange is good but can also be painful, carrot is great for moisturising, the red rose treatment is just bliss. What can I say, they are very good Smile The red rose cleanser is nice but stings the eyes a bit though. Wild Plum toner is good... I hear that the rosehip and maize exfoliator is fab as well but I haven't tried it.
