I used Origins modern friction scrub on my face this morning and it flared up some capillaries on my cheeks badly. The capillaries werent very noticeable before and now they're so red I look like ive been hit in the face!
I didnt think i was scrubbing very hard either!
10 hrs later it dosent look any better I'm worried its going to stay like it now...my question is is there anything i can use to calm it down to what they were like before?
I have a bit of calamine lotion on it now..is that okay to use on it? I thought it might help seeing as its for bites etc and meant to be calming.
I am a bit prone to the damn things but these are so red they stand out a mile!
Thanks |

I think you will be OK in a few days. Just be very gentle with your face. The same thing happened to me two years ago when I tried Epidermx. My capillaries (which I had IPL on) turned RED. I too thought that they were there forever. After several days luckily they just vanished. Hope you find the same thing happens to you.
I for one can't use harsh scrubs and certainly can't be heavy handed with them. If you tend to have broken capillaries you must be so gentle with your skin.
The Calamine lotion won't hurt you. Be sure to use only sightly warm water when washing your face. No extreme hot or cold. For now you can use a concealer to make you feel better until the capillaries calm down. |

Thanks winnie, overnight they have calmed down, they're still there but arent so bright a bit of concealer wont hide.
I hope i have the same experience as you and they go away
And yes I will be extra carefeul from now on.That origins scrub is very hard to rub in as they say to use on a dry face and I felt like i was having to really 'pull' on the skin so i wont be using that again(lucky it was a sample size) |

Hi Carol
You might know this already, but AHA's (e.g. glycolic, lactic etc.) can bring out this problem too on a lot of people. I've only got a couple of spots of this, but I certainly avoid the areas with these acids. M |

Thanks molly, I've only heard that recently. I dont use glycolics much anymore, maybe once or twice a week.
Is vit c okay? Cause thats an acid too so i was wondering if that could contribute?
Thanks |
