This is a review from Samples I get from EDS/Sephora the likes....

Decleor - Can I just say? I got my samples, thanks EDS sooo plenty, sooo generous!!!! I LOOOOOOVE their packaging, soo cute and generous sizings tooo!! 5ml for the BALMS, and 2.5ml for the OILS. I think this would really last me long and can really decide if I will re-order!!! (I'd probably re-order just to get samples!!)

ISClinic, SkinCeuticals - Very cute vials!!! .125 fl oz!!! Lasts 2 weeks!! Smile

Juice Beauty - plastic sachets! quite generous at .07 fl oz but I do not like sachets Sad Sad

Benefit Eye Con - Hard paper sachets you also tear and squeeze out.. it's ok I guess Smile

Caudelie - Very nice packaging, little tubes you squeeze out for creams, very sanitary Smile at 2ml.

Jurlique- Also sachets, very generous! I need to keep them in small ziplocks once opened though Sad but I guess they don't want to spend anymore on packaging...

I live soo far away, and pay shipping rates, and thus I really appreciate good packaging for samples Smile

Please share the samples' (packaging) you've enjoyed and experienced!! (So that I know which samples are worth the effort to ask and look for in malls/EDS!!! I love samples!! I discover my HG via samples

I completely agree with the Decleor oils (haven't tried the rest of your list). I really like the effect of the Neroli Aromaessence oil w/ the Flower Nectar cream on my skin that I ordered it and just started using the new bottle yesterday! It's great! Very Happy

I am slightly obsessed with samples and travel sizes. I love the IS Clinical sample sizes because they are perfect to travel with, as they hold a week or two's worth of product and they are refillable. I really like sample sizes that I can refill when I travel.

I am crazy about samples too. But I don't like those in sachets. I usually don't open them unless I really really want to try them out.

The samples which I like most are SKII serum. It is about 5ml and in a pump... so lovely. Refillable too. I have another Valmont serum sample(should be a gift set), also in a pump . But I have trouble in opening it up for refill.

Yesterday I went to my friendly neighborhood Whole Foods store and was milling around the personal care department, trying to decide if I should get of sample of a Dr. H product or a Juice Beauty product. They usually have testers out (for most products), but I didn't see one for the Dr. H. Rejuvenating Mask so I asked if they had a tester anywhere. The salesclerk told me they didn't have one, but then she opened up a "secret drawer" and asked me if I wanted to try any other Dr. H products. She proceeded to give me samples of the Dr. H Cleansing Cream, the Dr. H Clarifying Toner, and the Dr. H Blacktorn Body Oil. They come in decent-sized sample containers--the CC is in a little tube and is 0.34 oz., the toner is in a little glass bottle/vial w/a screw-on top and is 0.34 oz., and the body oil is in a glass bottle/vial w/a screw-on top and is 0.34 oz. (The glass bottles would be refillable for travel.) I was very pleasantly surprised with the size of the samples, but even more happy to discover the Whole Foods "secret stash". Wink Believe me, I will be back asking for a peek into the "goodie drawer".

I have a supply of small clean, sterile tubs here at home (often recycled from other trial products like Cellcosmet). Whenever I get a sample sachet I cut the corner off and squeeze every last drop into the tub. You would be surprized how long a 2ml sachet lasts when used this way. Of course it works even better if you have 2 or 3 sachets of the product to put into the tub!! I have done this method for my too-faced super lip plump samples, caudalie radiance and also the Guerlain eye tech success. Works like a charm and MUCH better than using the zip lock alternative (which is what I used to do).

In terms of packaging, I love the tubs of Cellcosmet, the glass dropper bottles of IS Clinical and Vivier, the tubes of Valmont and Orlane and the little plastic bottles from Janson Becket are also good.

I went to Whole Food last month and found that they have Dr. H products on the shelves. Seeking~HG...you are right, I couldn't see any tester neither. I even didn't realise they have samples to offer too. Well, I think I'll spend some time to visit Whole Food very soon Wink

Last year I got an AMAZING sample set from Erno Lazlo (spelling?) by going to their website and "clocking" myself (their system for analyzing your skin care type). Within a couple of weeks I got a full set of very nicely packaged samples, including the cleansing oil, famous soap, and a couple of other things. The samples lasted about a month.

I wound up not liking them, but it was a great way to try the products.

Samples I'm trying out now:

JansonBeckett

Alphaderma CE - facial wrinkle smoother. A light white gel cream that I massage into my forehead. If it weren't so pricy I would buy it. Instead I've ordered PSF Browtox, without haveing tried it.
C&C Serum - I like this c-serum. It has definitley helped clear and heal some spots quickly. It's a light and slightly oily serum which easily spreads and sinks in. Really like this one.
Okusil eye cream - REALLY like this one, it's a clear liquid gel, one drop is enough for entire eye area and this morning I saw a noticeable difference in my eyearea - smoother and hydrated + "plumped".
skin Prep - haven't used this as much as the others, for some reason I find it a bit of a hassle haveing to put two products on.

All these samples come in 2 ml plastic bottles with a good squeeze function, so you actually can control the amount that comes out and the product feels well protected. I think the packaging is surpriseingly good, and probably pretty expensive.

Samples I've tried out recently:

PSF

Emergence C-serum 12 % - very similar texture to JB's C&C. Comes in a 3 ml (I think)pump bottle, nothing fancy but it works. It might have been slightly stickier than JB's. I've ordered a full size of this and am eagerly waiting for mr Postman.
Cranberry Eye gel - clear gel, sinks in well, notice a smoothing effect, I haven't used it religiously every day coz I like it and don't want the sample to end Rolling Eyes but I've ordered the full size of this too. Packaging is a small round plastic box (3 ml)that you lift the lid on. The packaging works well for the eyegel. They use the same sample packageing for their creams and cleansers and I didn't think they were that good for them...product kept squeezing out when shutting the box.

Dermalogica put their creams in sachets...

I've got some Valmont and Orlane and Caudalie to try out as well...but they'll have to wait a while more...

that's all for now:)

Whole Foods is a Dr Hauschka sample bonanza! The workers there are very helpful and knowledgable and the man that I spoke with actually had been using Dr. H for a few years. I left that visit with, hand cream, firming mask, cleansing mile, normalizing oil and rose cream. The samples are a great way to see whether or not you should spend the big $$$ on the full size. There is nothing worse than sending a quarter empty container to the "product graveyard" when you spend 40.00 plus on it!
