Sounds crazy but we dont seem to have baking soda in the uk?! need it to neutralise AHA's. At least i tried sainsburys and they looked at me like i was crazy, is there an alternative or do we call it something different? btw im from the uk |

I seem to remember from my childhood baking days that we used to add 'baking powder' to things, am I right? It seems lost in the mists of time. M. |

Try asking for Bicarbonate of Soda, it should be located in the baking isle, it is actually Baking Soda. |

baking powder and baking soda are different, but i seem to remember adding both to baking?
anyhoodle, yeah, look for "sodium bicarbonate" |

Here in Australia we know it as Bi-carbonate of Soda" or more commonly "Bi-carb Soda".
That might help and it is in the baking isle of our supermarket where all the icings and cooking chocolate is.
