my husband is about to walk out the door for his germany trip... decided to Nair some hair on his shoulders (no not a gorilla) using the Nair for men... and it must hvae gotten left on mor than 10mins because now his skin is very red, stings and .. crap, it is burned.
What can I do?? I have put neat lavender oil on it (supposed to be good for burns) and it stung but felt good.
problme is we have no pure aloe gel here and my plant died and there is no such thing as neosprin here.. ARGH..
should I just tell him to keep putting on the lavender oil... he is going to have to tough it out on the 12 hour flight though...
any advice?!!!! |

do you have access to anything with lidocaine in it? it won't heal anything, but it will help with the burning ouchiness. Bikini zone has lidocaine, if you have that! |

For emergencies like this, I SWEAR by Code Blue Cooling Gel by Brave Soldier. The lidocaine and menthol in it soothes the burn and irritation, and the aloe, green tea, etc zap redness and inflammation within seconds. The other day I went to the salon and had my eyebrows, upper lip AND cheeks waxed. Afterwards my skin was red and inflamed, but I put some of this stuff on it and in 5 minutes it was like I had never been waxed.
But, since I doubt a lot of stores in Japan carry this, let's think of some other options. Do you have any O2 serum? I think that would be really good. Also good: a cool compress, like one of those gel eye masks, or even a cool wash cloth. Sorry I can't be of more help... |

DAMN. I never even thought of the O2 serum or I would have given it to him. He just walked out the door too..
But in the end over the lavender oil we put some of his Decleor Aromaessence after-shave oil on it and it really seemed to help. Took away some of the burning sensation (but still feels tingly). I checked it right before he left and it is still extremely red but it does not look quite so "raw" now. Well, he has a small bottle of the Declero with him for shaving and also has a full bottle of lavender oil. Man, how could I NOT have thought of the O2 serum.... |
