I just got a sample of the StriVectin SD Eye Cream from a tester bottle that was on display in a store and was wondering of it is still good or if it has spoiled. My sample is a light brownish color (I expected it to be white) and the smell of it bothers me. It smells strongly of gourmet Mediterranean olives. I know that it contains some olive derivative (Cetearyl Olivate) but I didn't expect it to smell so strongly of olive oil. Does anyone have any comments on this? |

Anxiously awaiting . . . Does anyone have experience with this product? I need to know if my sample has gone rancid or if I should keep using it. I was lucky enough to get a whole condiment-sized cup (like for ketchup, etc.) full of it. Either I got lucky or the salesclerk was just trying to get rid of a product gone bad. |

hi
your cream is fine. The brownish color is normal, and it does smell a little strange, but it was formulated for doctors and hospitals, not spas...so, no fancy looks or smells. I've enjoyed mine and it makes my skin feel silky. The eye cream doesn't hurt the skin because it leaves out the peppermint oil which is too harsh for sensitive skin. It should work for you.

Thanks for coming to my rescue! I don't know if I can tolerate the smell of the stuff, though. My nose is pretty sensitive, and it just about makes my stomach turn. But at least now I know that my sample is good, so I'll give it a try.
[I love the TASTE of olives, but I'm not so keen on wearing the pulverized-olive scent on my face!] |
