I bought this cos I was sold on the concept of "a reserve of moisture which is slowly and continuously released into the upper skin layers. This <> moisture release system helps rebalance the skin barrier, instantly and lastingly restoring its protective role."
I have dry and dehydrated skin that looks sooo nice and dewy in the morning **at least that's what I think**
:P:P, but by late afternoon, my skin would look dry and the "glow" is not there anymore.
Valmont's Regenetic comes in a small pot, smells nice - a floral scent that's not overpowering. On touch, it feels light, none of that oily feel that some heavier moisturizers have. It gets absorbed very quickly - my skin literally laps it up. Surprisingly, my skin looks quite matte - which is nice I thought - cos there were some moisturizers that I used in the past that made me looked "well oiled"!!!! "Matte yet subtle" - that's how I would describe it.
Admittedly, one thing it didn't do (that I wished it did) was to "plump up" my skin - I recently lost some weight and somehow Cellex-C's GLA Balm for dry skin makes my face a little fuller (just a little - I don't want to look like a puffer fish!!! Hey baby fish, Big Puffy is here hahaha). Hey, am I making sense here???
The acid test was whether Valmont has a better moisture release system than GLA so that I would still look dewy by late afternoon. I am happy to report that it does. Well, not as dewy as in the morning, but definitely better than when I use GLA. My skin still looks quite fresh and soft now - at 4 pm.
A good moisturizer - while it does its job, it does not have that heavy greasy feel - it does help the skin retain moisture better than most moisturizers that I know of- so you have skin like mine which loses moisture really quick - you might want to check it out:D. For those who have skins that could not make up their minds and may sometimes turn from combi to dry, I think this is a good one to try as well as it is not a heavy barrier cream and should do well not clogging finicky skins.
Cheers

Oops!!
I meant "matte and supple" and not "subtle" - yikes - must have been rather puzzling for those reading!

WOW! Jenny, you gave us a fantastic review about Valmont's Regenetic. I've learned so many things new about moisturizers. Thank you, Jenny "Angel Fish".
I found out that my skin doesn't like to have any moisturizer left too long on it. It does need some hydration cream but if I just wipe it off after putting it on for an hour, it will look better, dewy and not dull. |
