Does anyone know where to get pure Rose EO and Blue Lotus EO, preferably organic?

Which Rose EO is best for face?

Has anyone tried Blue Lotus EO on the face?

Hi Happy Hippie. Rose oil is available from and good quality essential oil distributor. My favourite line is Primavera. It's sold herewww.saffronrouge.ca if you are in the US or Canada. All rose oils are good for the skin but the best one to get is Rosa Damascena or Rose Otto Damask from either Turkey, Bulgaria or even Morroco as they produce the best and purest oils, harvested from the best roses at the peak moment. As for Blue Lotus that is an extremely rare oil to come across and available in very few places. I'm not sure if Primavera has it in their line, Saffron doesn't sell it but that doesn't mean it's not part of their original line. The other line I use Acqua Vitawww.acqua-vita.com once had it for sure. They also had pink lotus oil as well and they also had it in their "unperfumes" line which is basically a floral water. It may not be listed on their website as some oils aren't so you should call to ask. Suzanne is very freindly and extremely knowledgeable. (She used to be the president of the CFA and wrote an excellent book on her study of hydroslos called, justifiably, "Hydrosols". I highly recommend it for any professional aromatherapist as well as anyone wanting to expand their knowledge in aromatherapy.)

Hi happyhippie, I once had an ambrosia cream from Rosa Y Fruita with a few drops of blue lotus essential oil in it. I don't know it it was organic or not, but it might be worth e mailing Elizabeth.

try nature's gift for the rose & lotus eo's. i seem to remember seeing them there.

acqua-vita (as far as i know) is still carrying their 'unperfumes' hydrosols, which included pink & blue lotus, jasmine, nag champa.

wildflower...i love love love acqua-vita...i can't say enough positive things about suzanne, she's an absolute dear & is so knowledgable...i was so happy to have found her (and so close to me!)

I'm so glad to hear that! I take it you're from TO then? Acqua Vita was one of the first lines I began using when I became a professional aromatherapist. Suzanne offered great wholesale prices, has knowledgeable staff and excellent service! I wish her collection was larger though. I'd love to start building a new kit with Primavera oils as they are absolutely fantastic but I haven't been able to pin down any wholesale prices for therapists yet. Hopefully one day though, as they have the best and most complete line I've ever seen. But I'll always continue to buy from Suzanne as she is close to home and has the best prices for the quality she produces.

I recently just ordered lotus absolute essential oil. Man it was expensive, 2ml for $40.. it was certified organic but unfortunately all I have found (even from Nature's Gift) are solvent extracted. I got mine from a New Zealand supplier called Lotus Magik.

And the darn thing was on back order!! I was so excited to open it up and take a smell.

Happyhippie - I will be adding my lotus eo to a face oil once I manage to find a local organic hazelnut seed oil supplier. I will tell you how my experimentation goes (hopefully won't burn... it would be such a waste)

I have read that lotus/lily extracts like powders are astringent as well as the eo, so both forms are good for oily/blemished skin.

Happyhippie - I too have been wanting blue lotus and I found a source in Hawaii for organic blue lotus oil - the price was.......

$1200 for 5 ml

He said:It takes 300,000 flowers to make 20-30ml of oil.

It seems to be extremely difficult to find certified organic blue lotus and it rare and expensive but - I didn't realize it was this expensive.

Please post an update if you find a reliable source. Very Happy
