Has anyone heard of these pillows designed to protect face from wrinkles at night? I have had bad back and have been sleeping flat for last few weeks and my skin is looking so different. Little lines at the side of my eyes are definitely less defined so I am going to try and sleep like this all the time! Apparently is USA you can buy funny shaped pillow so even if you do sleep on your side, your face isnt squashed. Would be great if I could get one online? |

Yes, I have the same problem and I'm convinced that my lines come from this. I can't get myself to sleep on my back. I tried different pillows and neckrolls but to no avail.
There is a pillow sold at savemyface.com I wasn't ready to pay so much for something that may not work. I bought a piece of foam and tried to cut it in the same shape. I used it before it was done and found I could stop right there. The foam is not so cushiony and my face doesn't get smashed down into it but stays above the pillow. This is working.
You might want to try this before you buy the savemyface pillow. Firmer foam is what I'd aim for. My foam is about 4 inches thick and I've had no trouble adjusting to this from feather pillows.
Good luck.

not too sure about this pillow though, but I have heard a lot about using pure silk pillow case to prevent formation of wrinkles. I don't quite understand the logic there but I think it has something to do with the special soft and smooth fabric. |

Thanks for your replies, I had a look at savemyface and have to admit its rather a lot to spend for something that might not work! I will have a go at making one myself now that I have seen the shape. My back is a lot better now and last night I think I slept on my side most of the night and back came the creases this morning! I am convinced now, and as I am one of these people that get really hot in bed I also feel that anything I put on my face at night just sweats off into the pillow. I did sleep a lot better though so being on my side is so natural for me, when I lay on my back it just doesnt feel right and I find it hard to sleep for long. Will let you know how I get on with my handmade pillow! |

you know, I've wondered that too...and sometimes when I look at people and one side of their faces is "smooshed" permanently in a certain way....i think, i bet they sleep that way all of the time and its not just from aging:o |
