Has anyone used colored their hair using at home natural products?

I've read about using maple syrup on the hair. yum yum, but very sticky i'm sure.

Hi Fantasia,

My answer's no I haven't tried any natural products to colour hair at home....I've not heard that maple syrup could alter the colour of your hair. Salon-wise I've had the pleasure of having a henna dye put in my hair, the experience at the time was even more exciting and a bit harrowing as I didn't understand very much of the Japanese 'Sensei' who attended to me. Very Happy:P The condition of my hair after that henna treatment was unbelievable-- really shiny and healthy. I was so pleased and shocked that I reported back to the girls on this forum !! SurprisedVery Happy The henna colour actually is quite permanant and lasting, contrary to the believe that like the tattoos, the pigment would wear off gradually-- it didn't with my colour. Be prepared though.... it's a very strong medicinal smell and the texture when applied to your hair and applied quite THICK may I add that you'd need a good strong neck to keep upright-- is like a thick BABY-POO paste that is made up from henna and water (and/or tea, coffee).Very Happy

The only treatment that I've tried at home to bring shine to hair is using two egg whites worked into my hair as a pre-shampoo treatment. It's my Nan's recipe and it's really conditioning. ... If you do try the maple syrup, do let us know how you go. Be careful of ants, it's an invitation for a meal !

You can use any hair products with a lot of chamomile ingredient inside to highlight your hair as long as you are not a natural blond. This is very good method!
