Hi,
I live in Australia, so I need to find it online.
I am very upset because I have just discovered that the Avene 30+ which they sell here, that I have been using, is apparently not the best one.
I use mineral MU and I have a combination skin.
Thank you!! |

Well because I live in Australia, I didn't realize that the 30+ they sell here wasn't stable or something like that... (at least I think that's what I gathered from another thread). It's all extremely confusing...
You would think that Australia would have some great sun screen's wouldn't you.... ... |

Oh, yah, you have to watch out like for that Avene I posted, it is just a "physical sunblock" so I doubt it blocks UVAs....
I am using LRP Anthelios and Pediatrics for 1 yr now. It's stable but you cannot use Mineral Makeup with it coz the MMU degrades the chemical sunblock component. |

I know, god that's so annoying!! I really don't want to part with my mineral make up...
I didn't realize that physical sun screen's didn't block UVA rays!!!
I also use LRP. I guess I will just stick with that and maybe find a non mineral make up... I only really use concealer, so it shouldn't be too hard to find a new concealer that I like. |

Hi Lucinda
I don't really know where all this confusion has come from, but I've used both of the below with MMU and I know others do too. It IS stable.
It was recommended to use the Avene chemical ones with MMU, not just by Bad Bird, but on MUA and the Skincareboard too.
You can buy both of these atwww.tubotica.com. (Register at MUA first and you get a discount)
Avène Sunblock SPF 40 Lotion tube
Avène Sunblock SPF 40 Spray bottle
'With new generation of "MPI-SORB" Broad UVA & UVB protection + Pre-Tocopheryl Anti-Free Radical Protection."
The Avene 'extreme protection' is physical, but it does also have UVA protection it's just less (don't ask me how much less ) than the chemical ss.

Hi guys! I was looking up sunblocks and came across this forum. I saw that someone wrote that a physical blocker (zinc) does not block UVA rays. I have never heard this before and actually heard the opposite. Zinc and titanium block UVA rays. Can you please tell me if this is not true? I have melasma and it is really hard trying to find sunblock that will not make my spots darker. I am reading on the internet right now that zinc does block UVA and UVB, both.
Also, could you help me with the stable vs unstable? I don't know what to look for on that, what do you mean by that?
Thanks so much..Jenn |
