Does anyone know how to manage milia? I know they are use to the accumulation of protein under the skin, and its so distressing to see so many on my cheeks
I have sensitive dry skin, so I have to apply moisturizer (Dermalogica skin smoothing cream and super rich repair) and I wonder if I'm actually aggravating my milia condition.
I cannot exfoliate everyday using Dermalogica microfoliant cos thats too drying. Help! |

I had one by my right eye and it was there for as long as I could remember.
I jumped on the jojoba oil bandwagon 'bout 2 years ago and had faithfully applied it everyday as a moisturizer. After about 1 or 2 months, the milia because very soft and I was able to squeeze it (whatever "it" is) out and hasn't returned since.
I don't know what else there is out there to remove them...have you spoken to a doctor or dermatologist? |

The only thing that worked for me was salicylic acid...neutrogena has some good products and so does aveda. It penetrates the skin and gets rid of them. I used to have TONS of them on my cheeks...now...nothing! |

Hi Algae,
I just don't have the patience with milia any more. I have stopped using eye cream which has helped a lot and if I get the odd one I go for an old fashioned facial where they take a blade to it and cut it off. I am not sure that is the most accurate descriprtion of what they do, but I know that it gets rid of them. There have been a few discussions about this kind of facial here on the board and it is worth noting that some people are absolutely against any facial with a blade, but when it comes to milea all other treatments take too long for me. |

Uck! I got one of these under my eye last week! I was like uh uh no way this isn't gonna hang around! I remember getting these in the past and they'd be there for months! So I tried popping it with no luck but I must have damaged it because it looked kind of red and irritated for the day but then it scabbed over and just fell off and now there's absolutely nothing there. I HATE those things, the best thing to do is try to pop them or scab them off because otherwise they hang around for months and I got rid of mine in a few days and it didn't even look bad it was just a little tiny white dot under my eye. I got it from using Olay cream a few days before (i'm positive thats what caused it)... Those things really get me mad, I hadn't had one in years, and they're just so small and annoying... |
