I have very fair skin. When I ordered my started kit from the T.V. I asked for the light and got beige....it has been too dark. It makes me look "made-up". When I called to see if there was a shade similar to the color of the mineral veil, I was told that there wasn't. I just noticed that you now carry "fair"....would that work for me? I don't want to look like a ghost....but I don't want to look fakish with the beige either. Help!! |

I am assuming that this is the make-up that you are referring-to,because you mentioned "kit".
Though we have NOTHING to do with a t.v. offer, we do sell Bare Escentuals/i.d. Bare Minerals make-up. It's extremely popular!
As choosing a foundation is so important, yet extremely difficult to do without the ability to try-on, I recommend that first-time users start with the kits. Based on what you have described, I would recommend the "Light" Starter Kit. It has some lighter shades in it, including the Mineral Veil that you like. |

In reply to the reply that I received....I did start with the light kit....the colors were beige and dark on me....there are some of us in this world who are very light. I burn as soon as I walk out into the sun here in Florida...skin protection or not. I was looking for advice other than purchasing another kit. I was happy with the product...but not the coloring. I am looking for a foundation that is the same color as the mineral veil....the color of the mineral veil is my skin color....suggestions? Thanks again for trying. |

are you a redhead by chance? I use some products by JustForRedheads and love them. I too have fair skin and their foundation choices are excellent for fair skin. |

Hi Opal777,
I started out with a kit in 'light' which came with the #1.2 and #2 foundations. The #2 was way too dark but even the #1.2 was still dark as well. I ended up getting #1 (i.e. "fair") separately to the kit and it's a good match. If this tells you anything, I'm an NC15 in MAC studiofix and always need the palest shade in foundations.

First rule for purchasing any cosmetics - NEVER BUY ANYTHING OVER THE TELEVISION WHICH YOU HAVE NOT HAD THE CHANCE TO PERSONALLY TEST YOURSELF. More often than not, you won't like it or it simply may not be the right product for your skin. If you're having trouble finding just the right products, be smart and consult professionals. Dermatologists, professional make-up artists and aestheticians will be able to answer your questions and help you choose which products are best for you. |

Hi Oberz3...I have auburn hair with fairly light skin that burns in the sun if not covered by a hat...I use BareMinerals-the fairly light minerals then buff the mineral veil as instructed and the look is great. It may take a couple of applications to get the coverage you like but then it is your look only, right? I highly recommend Bare Minerals from Bare Escentuals--Hope this helps |
