It is a silly question. Of course we can.

I started to cook with olive oil recently coz it is more healthy.

But the query is that olive oil is rather expensive in comparison with other oil. If I cook with high heat, like frying, it could be wasteful.

olive oil has a low smoking point. You would not want to fry with it- the kitchen would be smoky and stinky! My dad (who I work for) burns olive oil all the time and trust me- ewwww!

I also use grapeseed oil for high T cooking otherwise u form transfats which are awful for you.

Olive oils vary widely in their flash/smoke points. You want the first pressing look on the WEB. Some have reasonable flash points so you can low T sautee.

By bringing olive oil to a high heat you are losing many of the benefits that it has when raw. I would suggest using canola oil as a cooking or frying oil and save your olive oil for sauces, salads, and sautees. That way you can enjoy it's great taste and full benefits!

Almost every oil, except coconut oil becomes toxic when heated. Olive oil should not be heated.

Add palm to the high heat list w/coconut. All the others have lower heat highs before going toxic. Olive is at most a sauté oil.
