It is a silly question. Of course we can.
I started to cook with olive oil recently coz it is more healthy.
But the query is that olive oil is rather expensive in comparison with other oil. If I cook with high heat, like frying, it could be wasteful. |

| olive oil has a low smoking point. You would not want to fry with it- the kitchen would be smoky and stinky! My dad (who I work for) burns olive oil all the time and trust me- ewwww! |

| Grapeseed oil is better for higher heat....at least that is what the bottle says. |

I also use grapeseed oil for high T cooking otherwise u form transfats which are awful for you.
Olive oils vary widely in their flash/smoke points. You want the first pressing look on the WEB. Some have reasonable flash points so you can low T sautee. |

| By bringing olive oil to a high heat you are losing many of the benefits that it has when raw. I would suggest using canola oil as a cooking or frying oil and save your olive oil for sauces, salads, and sautees. That way you can enjoy it's great taste and full benefits! |

| Almost every oil, except coconut oil becomes toxic when heated. Olive oil should not be heated. |

| Add palm to the high heat list w/coconut. All the others have lower heat highs before going toxic. Olive is at most a sauté oil. |
