Can anyone tell me the difference between Dermal Tone & NuFace? Are they effective?
I've been eyeing these products lately, but would like to hear feedback from people that have used them. Thanks. |

Hi kls!
I've never used NuFace, but it looking at the description, it seems very similar to DermalTone (which I do use and love!). The DermalTone has two metal contact points which you wet with either water or a water-based moisturizer to enable the electrical current to flow, thus exercising the facial muscle. It looks like the NuFace has 2 contact points as well, but I don't know if you have to use any water to get the current to flow. The DermalTone is used on 8 specific spots on the face (the video shows you how to use it)...I'd imagine that the NuFace has specific instructions as to where to put the contact points on your face as well.
The one huge difference I do see is the price! I got mine on Ebay for $100.00 (I think it's $170 if you buy it on the DermalTone website)...the NuFace is $450 USD!
At any rate, I do like the DermalTone and find that when I use it consistently (currently 2-3 times per week for maintenance), my skin is brighter due to increased circulation, and my face is firmer...I really notice it in my cheek and brow area!
Hope this helps!

Mary, your Dermal Tone only has 2 contacts? Mine has 3... |

It does look like the same product......my dermaltone has three points, with 3 settings, but only two contact points work at any given time. I am loving my Dermaltone, just hope the company stays in business - would hate for mine to "bust" and not be able to purchase another one.
It would be nice to get some feed back on someone using the Nuface.....though.

kls, it looks like you got to glide the Nuface over your face....the dermaltone you place it in the 8 points they advice you to place, and let it work your face muscles.....so now I am not sure whether they are the same thing...??? |

I didn't want to be the guinea pig on this one, really. But no one else has stepped up to the plate, soooo.......(arrggh!)... I ordered one
I'm so weak. (Now I can add "broke" to that).
And this is what I'm going to look like when my cc statement arrives next month:
Hopefully the Nuface will help on those expression lines! |

Oh, kls......I am so excited for you.....sorry about the guinea pig part, but please, please do write and let me know the results. The Dermaltone is very good.....I bet the Nuface might be even better....so don't worry about the money.....its for a good cause.....I know I am "HOPELESS".... |

Did you get your Nuface and do you like it? I'm at the edge of buying it.
Please tell me it does not work so I won't spend another $450. But, But, But,......... Please tell me it works so I can work on my laugh lines!!! |

MACrisis-
Yes, I got the NuFace a couple of weeks ago. Used it for a few days, then quit for awhile because I had some dental work done. I started back up with it again last week, and have been using it everyday since. It claims that full results will be seen in 3 weeks, so that's why I've been keeping quiet about it. Since it's so costly, I really want to wait & give my honest opinion about what I think of it & if it's worth the money.
I can't compare it to the dermaltone, but I can say that I'm seeing some results already. The upper & lower cheek area is where I'm seeing/feeling the difference, it's like there's more muscle tone underneath, if that makes sense. Also, the face feels more energized after a treatment which is kinda cool. It's also very easy & quick to use (only takes about 2 minutes). I'd like to give it a couple more weeks before I give it a full review, got a feelin' you're gonna hate me over this one |

I'm 47, fair, sun damage, fine lines, and probably combination skin. I'm really trying to find some products to firm up my skin, been using tripeptinon, ISC, and also just started using the facial-flex that Winnie recommended. |

Thanks!! I'm 47 too. What a great age to be.
My most concern is my laugh lines and just ordered Facial Flex based on Winnie's experience TOO!! |

MACrisis-
I'm not sure what I think about being 47, don't feel that old, don't want to look that old, but certainly appreciate the wisdom & experience these years have given me. Your description sums it up perfectly!!!
I think Winnie has convinced alot of us to get on the f/f bandwagon! You will certainly feel like your face got a workout with the it, the NuFace seems to work the muscles in a different way that you really don't feel.
The NuFace can be used on the forehead, which seems to help lift the brow area for a more "awake" look. The facial-flex works alot of the muscles around the mouth, which the NuFAce does not. At this point I think they really compliment each other well. |

I have been lemming the Nuface for a few months, originally saw it in the Bliss Catalogue. (I do have Dermaltone but never use it, I prefer Myo face toning to it).
Yet again another want , not a need, lol! |

Gina- where did you buy your Myo face from? I went on their site - it looks very interesting.
It seems like this machine does 3 things...massage, tone, and heat. Is the toning part done just like the Dermaltone? |

Hi, I bought it years ago off of the shopping channel in Canada, (they no longer carry it).
It is similar to the dermaltone, but I got better results from the myo machine.
I do not ever use the massage or heat, just the toning part.
I think they sell it atwww.myohome.com, hths. |

Thanks Gina - Ever since my Dermaltone got back from the work shop, the current has been fluctuating and giving me shocks, but I still use it Been looking at Tua Viso, but its very expensive and the Myo machine is reasonable....so I might go with it. |

greetings all,
great to find this forum. started using NU FACE 12 days ago. asked a friend if she saw any difference--she said no. at first i thought i did, but wondering if it is wishful thinking. anyway, still not up to the 3 wks they say it takes to get full results, so still optimistic.
something i read mentioned adjusting up to 'full power'--mine only has a switch coordinated with a power light which goes on when one moves the switch, then finally clicks into place--does anyone have a different system of actual adjustable power? thanks!
and if any of you has any advice for me, that would be great too! cheers!

are any of you still using your NuFace and what do you think? There have been other hand held devices that people are talking about now and some of you may have. Wondering what you all think of yours after all this time? |

I have it and still like it a lot. Mine does have an adjustable dial and I use it on the highest setting. It takes only minutes and I'd say I probably use it about 3-4x/week when I do (been doing a lot of testing in recent months so haven't been using it lately); however, I am going to use it this morning! I posted a review on it awhile back. |

Hi Scalawaggirl:
I remember seeing a post where you ranked your favorite high tech gadgets. I know you are in testing mode and this might have changed. But I remember you had FaceMate/Quasar at top and could not choose. Still feel that way? NuFace was at bottom. Do you think it is down there because 1) you are not at the stage yet where the things that NuFace improves is that much of a concern or 2) you don't feel for you that it delivers as well or 3) you don't feel you have given it enough of a chance to really know and you have been kind of ignoring it with all the other distractions (ie SP and TCA stuff)? Thanks. |
