I am 45 yrs old with combo skin, more dry in the winter months.

Have been looking at this line and the ingredients, and would appreciate some feedback from current users, or users who were not sold on this line.

Thank's in advance for your replies!

Hi Jillpa, I'm on my second round of JB Skin Prep and ACDE and am also in the "mature skin" group. Prior to JB, I was totally in love with La Mer, but....since using JB, La Mer is relegated to the back shelf of my cabinet!
I have to say that JB has noticeably improved my skin texture, tone and thickness and I'm very happy with their line.
I'm looking forward to adding their night cream and moisturizer to my regime and if they work half as good as the Skin Prep and ACDE, I'll be delirious with joy Very Happy

I began using AlphaDerma CE, along with Mineral Prep, after reading the many, many reviews on EDS. I had been using the Obagi NuDerm system for over six months, and wanted to transition to something a little less harsh and complex, yet effective. (I was happy with the results I received from Obagi) I was pleasantly surprised that I began experiencing even more improvements within just a few weeks after starting the ADCE.

Mineral Prep--I do like to apply this before my ADCE when I don't wear makeup, or at night. I experienced product some product "peeling" if I used mineral prep and ADCE before foundation...even a very light layer of tinted moisturizer. I've heard and read that others have not experienced this, but there are some, like me, who did. IMO, the mineral prep is nice, but not a must have, for me anyway.

I also started using vitamin C serum at the same time I began using ADCE, which I do believe the C serum also contributed to my skin improvement. Definitely use vitamin C serum! And I've not experienced the product pilling or balling up with this combination, as I did with the mineral prep and ADCE.

Hope this helps a little. Just one person's experience. My skin is looking forward to trying the new JB products!

I just turned 42 a few weeks ago. I've been using the complete JB anti-aging system since Dec 2005. I am on my third purchase of cleanser, toner, prep, & ADCE. I just ordered the DMAE night cream and the day cream (both freebies courtesy of Ian )
I love these products. They aren't terribly expensive, and frankly, my skin has never looked better. I would definitely recommend them!!

I have been using Janson Beckett products since July 04. My loss of elasticity brought me to EDS. Today my skin is extremely firm for a woman my age (61). AlphaDermaCE, Mineral Prep, C&C have had a dramatic effect on my skin. I just started using the new Night Cream. When I really want to look my best I add DermaExcel. The whole line works together very nicely.

Being a member of the forum I have tried other lovely products but seem to always return to the JB line.

And I would be one who isn't terribly impressed with this product line.

I have had far superior results with Pure Skin Formulations & with my homecrafted items.

May I suggest purchasing the sample packages (both I think are ample enough to make an informed decision).

EDS is the best and everyone is so helpful.

I think I am going to take Candy's advice and try a couple of the sample packages and take a look at PSF.

Happy 4th to all!

I really loved this line in the beginning. It firmed up my skin and was very smoothing but alas, started to clog my pores around the 6th week. Sad I am prone to clogged pores so unfortunately had to move on to something a little "lighter".

Hi, I'm 42 years old and I've been using ADCE and Skin Prep since November. I do like the products but as my skin wasn't so bad to begin with, it's difficult for me to tell if it's working or not. I do feel that in any case, using it is a good preventive measure. I only use it once a day, or once every other day and the other days I use Decleor products...Alpha Morning or Harmonie Cream. I am still on the fence on whether I will reorder or try something new...oh, decisions, decisions...

Definitely try the sample pack. The ADCE and cleansing milk didn't agree with me but I do like the Okusil which seems to tighten and brighten the eye area.

LOVE ACDE, Mineral Prep, and the new night cream. Have tried lots of different brands, including v v high end, and I keep coming back to this. I'm 48, and my skin glows with this stuff, it's plump and firm, no lines to speak of. (I also always use Vit C - at the moment PSF - and sunscreen.) Didn't much like Okusil, and Derma Excel didn't seem to do much for me, but otherwise I am an ardent fan! So much so, that I can't wait to try the new day cream! When I've strayed and used other products, it's not long before I've lost the glow, and just look more tired and worn. I get depressed about it, and can't believe that it's my skincare, then eventually go back to JB and voila! All is well again.

Good luck and HTH Smile

I totally agree with Candy. If samples sizes are available always go that way first. We all get different results from products as you can see from the responses to this thread. Although JB products worked very well for me it differs for each person. I can't begin to tell you how much money I have spend reading how marvelously a product has worked for many forum member...Yet, it did nothing for me.

I just started using the new Alpha Lipoic, Vitamin C Ester & DMAE night cream a couple of nights ago. The other JB products were unfortunately just to emollient for my skin, but I already like the fact that the new night cream sinks right in. No greasy after feeling. Also I thought it would be more stinky than it is. My skin usually loves DMAE & AL so I have high hopes here, though at any rate I'm still not sure I'd want to pay $99 for it.

I would love to try JB. I have been agonizing about it for about 3-4 weeks now. I just don't want to spend the money. What I am interested in is the whole skin care line-up. I am also afraid I will not use it properly and therefore not get any resutls. I have posted a couple of threads to get everyones opinion on JB and from what I have been reading, it's the manufacturer to go with.

I found the same thing with my undereye lines, Virginia. Glad to hear it's working so well for you on other areas, though.

Jillpa,
I've been using it for more than a year now and I like it. My skin now is better than ever! It's worth a try, and I think price wise is reasonable, the large bottle of ADCE will last quite some time. I now only use the Vitamin C and ADCE, I didn't like the prep at all.

Try their samples pack and see if you like it, although you might have to use it for at least 1 to 2 months to really see the difference, and the samples pack won't last you that long. Smile

I use the new night cream over my IS Clinical Active and Hydracool. It gives that little extra ooomph and soaks right in.

Hi Anya...I'm in the mature group also, 57, and i was glad to see what you had to say about the ADCE which I'm thinking about purchasing. In fact I started a thread asking about what people had thought of this product. My question is, what is in the skin prep product? And do you first put on the Vit C, then the skin prep, then the ADCE followed by sunscreen? I could be wrong, but I thought the ADCE already had vitamin C in it? Very happy to see what you wrote though. It's between the Beckett product and Revitol. I think Beckett seems to be pulling ahead. Very Happy

Hi Lefemme.
The ingredients in Skin Prep from the JB Website are:
Quote:
Purified Water, Seamollient [Mineral Complex: Magnesium, Calcium, Potassium, Phosphorous, Sodium, Iron, Manganese, Zinc, Copper], Argireline (AH3 Acetyl HexaPeptide), Hyaluronic Acid, DMAE Bitartrate, Glycerine, Simethicone, Polysorbate 20, Methylparaben, Propylparaben.
(Don't ask me what they are!!).

It's purpose is to prepare the skin for the remaining products you may use afterwards. You have to let it dry first before applying additional products. You should only apply Vit C where needed, (age spots, crow's feet for example).

In terms of order of application, you use the Skin Prep first, then you can either apply the Vit C serum next, or after the Alpha Derma CE.

I'd recommend you order their 5-day trial kit first just to make sure you like it.
