I live in NJ, USA. I just went for free consultation for hair removal, I am not that hairy, but I really want to get rid of my leg hair since I want to be able to wear nice shoes and no hassle of shaving all the time. I don't have a lot of hair, about 40 hair on one leg and 30 hair on the other leg. The quote is 500 dollar per session. Is this normal price? How many session do I need to do so I can get rid all of them permanently. Any suggestion about pricing or store are welcomed. |

Is this for the entire leg? If so it sounds about right but for just the lower leg thats high, should be about 1/2 that.
As far as how sessions you will need it can really vary. If your hair is light color is wont respond well and will need many many sessions. Most people done after 6-8. The laser only effects hair that is in the growth cycle so it doesnt 'hit' every hair at every treatment.
If I were you, since you dont have alot of hair I'd just buy an epilator (I love mine). |

Just lower leg. I do have black hair. I think I got more if I shave more. It used to be less.
What is epilator? I want to get rid of hair permanently. |

An epilator is like a razor but it tweezers the hair instead of just cutting it. I've been using one my legs for a looong time, over 10 yrs. The hair is very sparse and fine now.
I think $500 a session for lower leg only is way too much. I'd check out other places. |

If you have so little hair I don't think it's worth it to get laser hair removal. Just shave. |

Won't it hurt when you use epilator since it's doing tweezing?
Since you all think it's a bit overpriced, I will try to find other place for the price quote. Yeah, northeast area in US is ridiculously pricy.... |

I lived in MA a couple years ago and it was $200 for lower legs. I had seen prices at a few places they were all around $200-250.
Some people find that epilator hurts, but it hurts less as time goes on. I though it was totally bearable.
I dont know what laser is like on lower legs but it hurts way more then an epilator on underarms and bikini area. |

Where I live it's $300 per session and you need 6 sessions. Which is still a large chunk of money. Waxing is a decent option too, that's what most of my darker haired friends do.
I only know one person with an epilator as all of my friends wax and shave. I think epilating isn't as common as it used to be (am I wrong here?) I'll have to look into it myself. |
