As my friend calls it or your skin looking like crepe material. I have developed this on my face, just over the apple of my cheeks (under my eyes). Any suggestions on how to get rid of it. As I've aged my arms and legs have developed this and so far nothing has helped even diligent moisturizing! But on my face it shows every time I smile and even makeup can emphasize it. Help! Very Happy

Do you mean KP? (keratosis pilaris) If so, products with glycolic acid or lactic acid and urea work for me.

No I actually don't mean KP ... my friend just refers to it as 'chicken skin' and I actually didn't know about KP! Sorry. I just mean the appearance of the skin when it looks like crepe. It just happens with aging and thinning of the skin (I think) but I'm not sure why it has suddenly appeared on my face!

Hi curls, maybe a correcting serum can help? skinceuticals has a nice line with retinol serums which is supposed to correct wrinkles and stuff. i haven't tried it myself, but i am getting good results with their other serums.

curls0202 -- are you talking about skin that has sort of a weathered, uneven texture and it's right above the top ridge of your cheekbone? Looks like stretched-out crepe paper? That's what mine looked like (I'm 53, so if you're a lot younger, it might not be the same type of thing).

If so, a Vit C serum will help a great deal. Also, I saw significant improvement using IS Clinical eye cream. It wasn't instantaneous, but in about 6 weeks time that crepey look was virtually gone. The small amount of crepiness I have left is because the skin needs to be firmed up more, which I'm addressing with Retin A, copper peptides, and AHAs. It's a slow process, but it's definitely working.

Is your skin dry or dehydrated in that area? You might just need to use a nourishing oil, such as squalane, emu, rosehip, camellia, etc. instead of a regular moisturizer or eye cream.

I hope someone else has suggestions for how to eliminate this on arms and legs - I'd like to know too!
