I like the clear acrylic makeup organizers like this one--http://www.creativespacesusa.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=164. I like to be able to see everything easily and I want to have everything within reach. I just leave mine on top of the bathroom counter, but you can move it around easily. It's also easy to clean--just use soap and water or put it in the dishwasher. |

I have *the* most perfect makeup case and I cannot for the life of me remember what it is called. They used to sell them on TVSN I think but I don't know if they still do. It would really help if I knew what it was called. It was something like the "Lori Garner makeup organizer" I think, but I could be telling outright lies. I paid a whopping US$50 just to get it sent to me from the US but it was worth every penny!
Woohoo! Found it! It is the Lori Greiner (close enough! ) Cosmetic Organiser: http://www.qvc.com/asp/frameset.asp?aol_refer=false&dept=6587&&ref=P03&&
Have a look at the video - I can't emphasize how higghly I recommend this!
ETA: Sorry, direct link isn't working. Click on organizers, then cosmetic, then on the H78557. |

I sooooo want to get a train case for my makeup from Sephora. But it's $90 (midnight train case)!! I did find some others online that were cheaper and looked similar, but I'm not sure about the quality:www.yazmo.com . One of these days I'll order one from somewhere (since I've never seen anything locally like this). |

I recently bought an aluminium-sided tool case from a hardware store (same style as a camera case). It carries "upright" and has four cantilevered trays in the top which open out when the case is opened (from the top). Inside, there are adjustable dividers for other bulkier items (bottles, large palettes). My everyday makeup is stored in a tray organiser on the bathroom bench, but my "stash" is in the tool case |

I use shallow plastic drawers designed for paper. That way I can see all my items, I'm worried that with a traincase, half my stuff will be buried, and I'll never remember what I have. I don't travel around enough to warrant having portable storage. |

I use plastic embroidery cases from the craft store. They are cheap $2-$4, and have dividers in them. I can set my minerals on their side, and I can see all the colors at a glance. |
