I used to bite my nails, yeah I know it's gross. But I have finally stopped couple of months ago and I have nail polish on all the time. However, yesterday when I took my nail polish off, I noticed that my nails are really yellow and also they are chipping on the top. Does anyone know if this is serious? I am scared that it's so sort of fungus or infection. My nails were never yellow before, and I am only an occasional smoker so I don't think it's that. |

this can happen if you use darkish colours and no base coat. |

Talika makes a fantastic powder you pour into the wash basin and wiggle your nails around in for one minute. It makes them really sparkling white. |

Yeah, nail polish yellows your nails. I get the yellow off by rubbing my nails with a cotton pad soaked in lemon juice. That will do the trick. |

Thanks for replies. I will try to get it off. I just hope it's not some sort of infection. |

Yeh, I think you're fine. My nails always get yellow and peel when I leave nail polish on for too long. Try using OPI's Nail Envy to get them to stop chipping--- works like a charm for me. |

The Talika sachets of powder are really great, but you may not find it strong enough, depends on just how yellow your nails are. |

i think you should let your nails 'rest" for a while, without any nail polish. |

when your nails grow back, try buffing them if they're still yellow. OPI avocado oil is also very good for your nails and cuticle. |
