Hi
Im looking for a new vitamin c serum. I normally use the PSF one but find I get stung on duty charges ontop of shipping. What would be another one to go for? I dont have any problem with vit c. My skin is quite sundamaged, crepy under my eyes and have frown lines. Now ive got those awful lines forming around my mouth and from nose to mouth. Ive been reading about HA creams being good for plumping and hydrating. My skin, especially my eye area, does seem to be dehydrated quite frequently though throughout the day my face appears shiny. Please could someone suggest the following:-
Vit C cream with or without HA
HA cream day and night
eye cream (ive been looking at cellcosmet but its very expensive - maybe i shall save my pennies up for this if its as good as what im reading about it)
At the moment I use Renova 0.05 at night. PSF hydrating eyecream (this has alomost run out not) and i have just ordered Photolagen in the hope that this may help
Hope to hear from someone
thanks

I bought a Vitamin C serum that used HA as its base this spring from a website. It was very runny but I really liked it because it worked very well and it absorbed VERY quickly. I want to by some HA to make my own serum (seems silly to pay such high prices for it!). So, my suggestion if you don't mind runny serum is this. It then allowed me to get the benefits of the vit. c and the HA but then to add whatever moisturizer or oil on top of it. |

I got it at:

I guess it would be good to try it first seeing as lots of people don't like runny vit. c serum. If you really like it, like I do, then there's lots of advice here on how to make a DIY vit. c serum. I plan to mix a serum up with just the vit. c and the HA (no propolyene glycol). I'm just waiting to afford the HA....
Good luck! |

Hyaluronic is not really expensive and little powder goes a loooooooooooong way. I make a Vit C w/HA - and use Aloe Vera as my base as it already has a preservative in it. |

Thanks, Candy! Since I haven't gotten the HA yet, I've been mixing the vit. c powder with aloe and using that. I like it a lot but not as much as when I had the HA. Where did you buy your HA from? I've checked out the skinactives site and the personal formulator. I figure I will go with one of them when I can spend the $50. If I got a smaller amount, how long does it last? I didn't want to end up with too little and then go through it fast. Might as well buy a lot up front so I don't have to pay as much shipping costs. |

Depends on how badly you wanna play mad scientist.
TPF sells HA 1% (I think it is), it's in a liquid form, so basically no real mixing involved. It's done for you. Measure out how much you wanna use & you're done.
There are several great sites to purchase HA in a powder form.
SAS is onewww.skinactives.com
www.gardenofwisdom.com - great site and Markey is the BOMB!
www.theherbarie.com - just got an order from them today. Angie is very sweet, excellent CS, great prices.
www.thepersonalformulator.com - have both forms (I'm nearly certain) - shipping costs are high, but good quality product
www.bulkactives.com - new kid on the block, they are located in Taiwan. John is very quick with processing orders and also follows up with emails.
There are many many others but these are the suppliers that will be taking a nice holiday this year solely from my purchases, lol.
As far as how much you need, if you're only making a Vit C and maybe a HA serum a few grams will last you a long time (few months). I on the other hand go through it like a mad woman. Especially today when I was making my Gycolic Toner and instead of looking at the grams I read the ozs which apparently was missing the . so I wound up with an alien bloblike creature - that if I can't find a way to salvage this I may just name him Henry and keep him on the bathroom counter. |

$58.00 bucks????? OMG!!!!!! That's insane! And let's add your skin can't even absorb 27% - so what's the point. ARGH! THIS is the reason I started making my own stuff and why I now have Candessence. They oughta be wearing masks! |

I UNFORTUNATELY found this site after I bought this serum. It was my last purchase like that. I was desperate so I bought it. It helped my skin tremendously but I couldn't afford to keep it up. I then came across a Dr. H. product and two Cellcosmet products at a discount shopping place and I bought them on a hunch that they were good. I looked up the Cellcosmet stuff here and discovered the forum (I had bought stuff from EDS a few years back but didn't know about the forum.). Now, I'm doing practically all of my routine myself with all types of DIY stuff from you wonderful people here!! I am so grateful and it is sooooo much cheaper (especially since I can use the oils for my skin AND my stomach! ).
Thanks, Candy for the info on the sites. I will investigate further! |
