Any suggestions? I have combo skin.
I'm currently using Aveeno Ultra-Calming Foam, which I quite like, but I don't know the pH and it has a nasty detergent in it and I do not want to compromise my skin's acid mantle.
I'm also using Dr. H's Cleansing Milk (but it feels like it doesn't clean enough)
Dr. H's CC was irritating my skin so I had to stop using that.
Thanks |

Water and an old microdermabrasion cloth. Even works if you pile the slap on like me |

Hmm.. what about Zenbiotic's cleanser? I don't know anything about PH but I think it's detergent-free and it cleans a bit more thoroughly than DR. H's Cleansing Milk. Not too spendy either.

Yonka's Gel Cleanser - not sure about pH but definitely organic and detergent free. Earth Sciences is a good health store brand and I LOVE their toner - their cleanser also looks great. If you check them out I think the pH is on the bottle - the toner has a pH of 4, not sure about the cleansers. But I'm pretty sure they're detergent free. |

I say the Yonka Gel nettoyant too. Ive found nothing thats as gentle and effective as it. The fragance is pleasant and the consistency is really easy to massage on the face. |

Another vote for the Yonka Gel or the Cellcosmet Purifying Cleanser, which is quite similar. |

I like Clinique's Comforting Cream Cleanser or La Vitton Oil Cleanser.
Don't know about the PH though. My skin is sensitive and these 2 products do not irritate it. |

If you at all have sensitive skin I would not recommend a microdermabrasion cloth. I bought one and used it for two weeks and although it felt nice in the beginning after awhile I noticed small reddish veins appearing. These went away but it took months and Dr. H Rose Cream every day. |

I would recommend Primavera's Cleansing Milk or Refining Exfoliating Cleanser. Both very gentle with excellent organic and biodynamic ingredients. I absolutely love them. I would have recommended Dr H as well but you said it irritated your skin. I find the Primavera products to be extremely soothing and non irritating as they are gentle enough even for sensitive skin. |

I would highly recommend either the Ice Elements cream or gel cleanser.
Both are ph balanced, contain no detergents are gentle and effective.
The cream cleanser is also hydrating as it contains squalane, where as the gel cleanser has a squeeky clean feel afterwards but is not drying.
You can find these at http://iceelements.com and also at http://hsn.com and http://tsc.ca |

Aloe Vera, squalene, vegetable glycerin, Antarcticine™, vitamins A & E, ginseng and green tea.
What exactly cleanses skin in this formula? Seems like just a moisturizer. |

You might want to look into DHC products; most are pH balanced. Washing powder and cleansing oil come to mind. Also, you can buy litmus paper to test whatever soap you use to test pH. |

spacake--from your list the only one I've used is PSF. It does apply like a moisturizer...meaning it doesn't foam at all, but it leaves my skin really clean and residue free. Another cleanser I like is Diana Yvonne Rose Hip Cleanser. It is pH balanced and detergent free-and although the ingredients may seem geared more toward moisturizing, it really works at cleaning, especially when used with a washcloth. Here's the link if you're interested:

I've read that both the Rose Hip and Wheat Germ Cleansers from DY are not the original formulas and to stay way away. |

Oh great I hadn't heard this. Geez, maybe I'll just start using plain old water and a microfiber cloth. Well, then, I don't know what to tell you...good luck with your search |

Check out DY's forums.
Finding a "clean" cleanser that doesnt degrade your skin barrier is very hard, but there are some out there and you MUST SEARCH ON, SISTER |

Hi!
If you are really interested in how the mix of ingredients interacts to cleanse the skin, I suggest that you ask Shelly at the Ice Elements message board.
I personally use this product and it cleans my skin without stripping it. I no longer have any blackheads that plagued me for years... nor do I have the flaking or ashiness that I once had.
The formulation is so gentle that I use it on my eye area without a problem, yet it takes off my eye makeup without a hitch.
Take care.
