I had a facial recently with a spa that exclusively uses Dermalogica. I have to say that it was the most amazing facial I've ever had. Even with a few extractions, I left with dewy, even-toned skin. I had the facial at lunch and folks at worked raved all afternoon about how "healthy" my skin looked.

Anyway, the esthetician used, and swears by, the Precleanse product. Description to follow. The premise seems analogous to OCM --- using oil to lift oil. I bought some and it does seem to enhance cleansing... especially removing foundation from the pores that I'm thinking I was missing before with ordinary cleansers. I haven't had any irritation or breakouts in the two weeks I've been using it, but I'd like other folks thoughts before I rave... Any bad long-term reactions out there?

Here's the description. TIA!

"The professional's deep cleansing weapon! Achieve ultra clean and healthy skin with a double cleansing regimen that begins with PreCleanse. This plant-based cleansing oil, fortified with Olive and Kukui oils, thoroughly melts layers of excess sebum (oil), sunscreen, waterproof make-up, environmental pollutants and residual skin products that build-up during the day. When water is added it transforms this hydrophilic (water-loving) formula into a milky emulsion, easily rinsing away oil-based debris from the skin's surface and allowing your recommended Dermalogica Cleanser to penetrate even further for professional cleansing results. Formulated with conditioning Rice Bran and Vitamin E oils, this gentle blend can be used around the eye area to even remove waterproof mascara. Offers a deep cleansing ideal for even the most oily skin conditions. Contains no artificial fragrance or color. Professional recommendation advised."

I got a few sample sachets of this & I really like it. Obviously I haven't been using it long-term, espcially considering it was only released just a few weeks ago, but the only problem I have with this is that it was starting to make my eyes & the area around my eyes sting a bit Sad Apart from that I think it's a really great product Wink

I've been using this for about a week. I really like it but, essentially, it *is* OCM, though perhaps a lighter oil than some. I don't find the need to cleanse after using this, though I cleanse anyway 'coz I have too much stuff to get through Embarassed

I've been using this for more than a month and I have had no problems with it. It doesn't feel that oily afterwards either (although I always clean again in case). It takes of all regular eye makeup, but needs a cotton pad to take off any waterproof eye makeup. Now I save up not needing to buy eye makeup remover Very Happy

Wein, good point. I've been thinking about this also.... so I've experimented with as little as a dime-sized drop with decent results. I'm also thinking of just focusing on my t-zone where my pores are enlarged.

The other possible solution comes with needing less cleanser, which might balance the economic factor. Like others who've replied, I almost think cleansing after is unnecessary depending on how much stuff you're trying to remove.

I use 4-5 drops for full face makeup and that amount is more than enough for it to spread really well and take care of my whole face spotlessly. I don't always wear eye makeup but I assume another 2 drops for each eye on a cotton pad if I was wearing something heavy like waterproof mascara. If it's daily waterproof eyeliner (I use fluidline) the above 4-5 drops is enough to take care of all that. You also will never have a problem with too much coming out (unless you squeeze the bottle). Even if you turn it upside down drops will come out one at a time.

Ok, I need to re-evaluate my use of this. I use about one and a half teaspoons each time.
