Hello! I am new here, but I share my love-obssesion about skin care like you all have around here ... I have to say that after researching A LOT, I can say I am a truly skincare freak! and after trying all the brands that you talk about here I am going to give you my most humble opinion:
All this brands denominated "natural" as Dr Hauschka, Jurlique, Nascent, Moor and so on...I found them extremely harsh for the skin and too greasy, the amount of essential oils is highly concentrate, so high that your skin can not really absorb, and because of the lack of a strong carrier my skin always come up in huge rashes.
It took me a long time to realize all the nasty ingredients that most of the cosmetic companies use in their products, and only because they are cheap!!!
Things as Petrochemichals (paraffins, vaselines, petrolatums), propylene glycol and butylene glycol, UREA, Sulfates and Sulfocinates, synthetic purfums, synthetic colours, synthetic preservatives (the famous parabens!), lanolin, retinol, glycolic acid, AHA, alcohol.....all this things are not only cheap, thay are as well so bad for your skin, even some countries are thinking about banning some of these ingredients as potencial hazards for the health!
Skincare is changing, now we take care of what we put in our skin as much of what we eat, we are not marketing fools anymore, we know ingredients and we know when a product is cheap with a huge marketing company behind it....we know better. And we feel it!
Let me know what you think as well about this.

Hello Caliope,
I agree with much of what you say in your post but I must take exception to including "Dr. Hauschka" as a skin care line that uses synthetics, preservatives etc.
If you ever looked at the ingredient list of Dr. Hauschka's products you will see that nothing but 100% botanicals are used. No preservatives, chemicals, synthetics etc.
I have extremely sensitive skin, can hardly use anything and am allergic to much of the additives in skin care products, but not one of Dr. Hauschka's products have ever irritated my skin (and I have used many of the products.) In fact Dr. Hauschka has improved my skin in many ways. It has done what other skin care lines has failed to do.
Essential oils are easily absorbed by the skin. The reason you need a carrier is to dilute the essentil oils which would be too harsh for the skin.
It's good to be careful in what you put on the face. But, everyone is different and people respond to skin care ingredients in different ways. Also, there is the cost factor. Sometimes, one can only afford to purchase what others would never dare put on their face.
I find that skin care and skin care products are a very subjective area. But, it is nice that a forum like this one allows all of us to voice our own opinions.
