I am going to be getting several samples of sunscreens soon.
My skin is dry and I was hoping that people could recommend foundations they use over sunscreens.
I think I'd need ones without spf so they don't interfere with the SS itself (I could be wrong on that).
I currently use Stila Illuminating liquid foundation and like it but was feeling like a change.
Thank you.

Hi Emma
It depends on what the SS are. What are you getting?

Hi Molly,
I'm going to try:
Item Name: Sample LRP Anthelios XL Fluide Extreme SPF 50+/PPD 28 1/4 oz.
Item Name: Sample Bioderma AKN Spray SPF 30/PPD 26 1/4 oz.
Vichy Lait/ Milk.
My skin is going really stupid and dry atm which isn't helping. |

Hi Emma,
I don't really use foundation on a regular basis, but to keep your sunscreen from degrading, make sure whatever foundation you're using doesn't have a sunscreen in it also. the mixture of spf ingredients can mess up your protection. |

I thought you couldnt wear makeup with any avobenzone sunscreens? I didnt think it was just an issue with makeup that has spf in it but also the oxides in makeup that degrade avobenzone. Can anyone clarify this for me?
Its so frustrating because i love my Everyday Minerals but want to use good euro sunscreens as well. And my makeup dosent feel complete without some coverage of makeup. |

sorry this isn't a reply to offer any help, I just really wanted to know where you were able to find samples of the LRP and Bioderma. I almost ordered the LRP off ebay but would love to try it first.

Hi Croeber
You can get samples from this new site here
http://www.skincarecentral.biz/sunscreens-about-.html
It looks a little bit 'home-made'(No offence Kathleen, but I am an ex web designer ) and I wouldn't usually trust that kind of thing for shopping if I'd just come across it, but the owner is well known on other forums and their money processing is separate so I think it should be reliable and I've ordered already.
I think it's just so great that we can finally get samples of SS. Texture's such an issue for me.

I've ordered samples from here and am very impressed with the Vichy I tried.
It was great trying different SS out.

thanks so much for posting that link. I'm just beginning to learn about PPD ratings and photostability. It will be great trying these out before committing to a full size purchase. I'm glad I joined this forum. For years I've just assumed that my SPF 15 was sufficient. |

This SS stuff is making me nuts!!
Here is my question: will sunscreen that has a physical block (titanium dioxide or zinc oxide) break down if you put foundation over it the way the chemical ones do? |

I think it will if the SS protection doesn't match.
I have changed my foundation - I now use a Clinique one which has no spf in to react against my SS. |
