Hi
I am 23, male, i have really awful facial skin, i mean, i dont have spots, but i have like small red lumps that look like flat spots, it basically just looks bad.
I am using sunbeds which is supposed to help, but its not.
What products are really good for clearing out all pores, and making my skin look clear and healthy?
I dont mind about cost, i would like product that i can buy from ebay if possible.
Thankyou
Matt |

I would also recommend that you add a 2% or 5% BHA serum to your routine. You should probably start with 2%, especially if your sking is normal to dry, as BHA (aka salicylic acid) can be very drying. However, it is the best at clearing out pores which in turn helps keep acne at bay.
You may want to read up on other acid products (glycolic, lactic, mandelic, etc.) to see what they do and which one would best meet your needs. |

I know it's tempting to use a sunbed as a quick fix, but really you should stop using it. It's not doing your skin any good in the short or long term. My brother used to use sunbeds aswell to help his skin, one day I came home to find him with his face inches away from the oven hob he was trying to dry his skin out!
You don't say what your skintype is, but maybe something like emu oil would be helpful. Or adding an HA Serum, both of which you can find on Ebay. Also a good moisturiser with an SPF. |

I would recommend seeing a dermatologist and quitting the use of the sun bed (I had skin cancer, I feel very strongly about sun protection and unnecessary UV exposure). My son, who is 23 also, uses Plexion, a prescription cleanser that has really made a huge improvement in his skin. He uses it once a day. Good luck in your quest for healthy skin, just remember that the goal is to improve the skin now without doing damage that will show up later.
P.S. My son is named Matt, too!!!!! |

I agree with Charmed1. You should see a dermatologist. I am around your age and have somewhat the same problem. I hesitated going to a dermatologist at first but I figured I have no other choice so I finally went to one. What's great about going to a dermatologist is that they will examine your face and prescribe the best treatment that best suits your skin type/condition. I went to my dermatologist with a product I want to use in mind, I just wanted to get a second opinion. Best of all, my consultation and follow ups were free. However, I left her office with over $800 in skin care product. |

A dermatologist is advised. Also, someone here mentioned Salicyclic acid (I hope I spelled that correctly) and I think that this does help with blackheads, pores and keeping skin free of blemishes. A websitewww.acne.org has many messages posted about this. A caution though not all formulas are created equal. Some are very watered down, unfortunately many of those are on ebay. A suggestion would be something like Paula's Choice 2% to start with. Sometimes you can find this on ebay and then at least you know it's a brand name and not something that a seller made in their kitchen. Maybe you could do a google search of Paula's Choice to see what others have said about it? |
