Hello everyone,
Please give recommendations on skin care routine/products for Eczema. I have had this condition ever since a toddler and I am sick of how sensitive, flaky, red my skin is at times.
I have this dry patch right on my chin and get red dry patches above my eyelids. Since this area is so sensitive, I don't know what I should apply to it. Steroidal cream (currently, I use the prescription ointment Aclovate) was the typical way to treat this disorder but dont know how safe it is to put so close to my eyes.
Thanks in advance. |

I do not have eczema, but my toddler daughter has.
What I found out that by monitoring her food we traced that the eczema fluers after she eats strawberry (she absolutely loves them) and actually any red/acid veggies/fruits (grape tomatoes her favorite as well were producing similar reaction). Eliminating these foods had made a huge difference. We also used homeopathic ointment with lanolin. occasionally it flares again and then we use corticosteroids for a day or two just to prevent scratching.
the idea about food as inducers I got from another mother for whom the red fruits were the main reason as well. One can also try to eliminate dairy since this is known allergen.
