anyone has experience treating scars as a result of eczema?
i can't wear shorts or skirts now since my legs have scars from scratching..as a result of eczema
it's quite upsetting when i see ppl wearing shorts & skirts on hot summer days but i still have to wear something long to cover my legs

Hi milodomi,
You may want to check out a product called Dermatix SI Gel. EDS sells it and there is a review on it that Caspers Mum did on it after her surgery. Might be worth a look! HTH's Very Happy

Have you ever tried Rosehip or Evening Primrose oil? A friend of mine had a friend who had very severe eczema all over her body. It was painful for her and she felt very insecure about it and what made it worse was that she had spent the year working in a sawmill which aggravated her condition even more. So as a case study in our aromatherapy course we started giving her wraps with rosehip oil. We massaged the oil all over her body as the eczema was extensive, and wrapped her in large garbage bags and just let her relax all cozy and warm for about an hour. After the first treatment her skin was noticeably softer and less red and scaly. After two weeks it was like she had grown a new body. We were all so happy to see the results, and she was ecstatic to finally have some normal skin again. Of course there isn't a cure so she had to continue to do occasional treatments with the oils but at least she didn't have to turn to steroidal creams and drugs. I would really suggest giving the rosehip a try and maybe taking a supplement like Evening Primorse oil as well.

o i just got a bottle of primrose oil but was gonna return it..it's a bit away from the topic but was reading articles about how our diet is too high in omega 6 in general..so i thought maybe i don't need more omega 6 and should take more omega 3 instead..that's y i was gonna return it; but maybe i'll keep it for now

where can i get rosehip oil? r they available at health food stores?

my eczema is alot better now but since it lasted for quite a few months, the scars r still on my legs and when the weather gets cold, the skin becomes quite scaly too.. Crying or Very sad

I can't comment on the article, and only you would know best if you have enough essential fatty acids in your diet in whatever form they may come. As for where you can buy Rosehip Oil I would suggest the Primavera line which can be purchased atwww.saffronrouge.com if you are in NA as well aswww.acqua-vita.com (much smaller company but I've been buying from them from years and they've always been really nice and knowledgeable). Just make sure the oil is organic or biodynamic and of therapeutic quality.
