Hi,

Im new to this forum, but not new to looking for ways to fix my skin! Well since i was like 10 ive had red cheeks, its so annoying i hate it, i originaly thought it was because i was unhealthy and perhaps too fat ( i thought it would add to the condition of my skin ) So i decided to get in good health and after i did so, My skin didnt change at all, its still slightly red always, and Very red when i exercise, please please help, i have a normal white complextion so even the slight red looks bad. Ive tryed taking vitamin tablets but they have no effect, even washing my face doesn't. Every other member of my family has perfect skin. What am i doing wrong??? By the way if you have e-mail i can send you a picture so you can understand more... Please don't ignore this, everywhere else ive been doesn't help, i even went to the doctor and he couldnt think of anything. HELP Sad

I have a similar problem, i get red rashes over my face also. I have read that glycerin only exasberates the problem... what I do sometimes is take whole milk and dunk cotton balls in it and leave it on my face for about 10-15 minutes. The lactic acid in the whole milk supposedly helps calm my skin. I believe this is what you might have been referring to when you wrote that milk helps.

Hello Ezhachayeany,

It seems to me that you just may have "Rosacea." However, I am not a doctor. If you could perhaps see a Dermatologist and get an accurate diagnosis then you could treat the problem with the appropriate products. This would save you alot of guess work and spending money on products that may irritate rather that heal your skin problem.

I had a friend who had a similar problem with red cheeks. Everyone thought he had just gotten a laser peel even though he didn't. He was diagnosed with Rosacea. I had him try some of Dr. Murad's formulas. It is made for acne, but the Murad pamphlets said that Rosacea was a form of acne even though it looks different. My friend's skin calmed down significantly after 2 weeks of use.

I would strongly suggest that you see a Dermatologist since you are describing symptoms of Rosacea. Although I have rosacea, I won't recommend any products simply because every person w/ rosacea has different triggers (foods, alcohol, beauty product ingredients) which will cause flare-ups for that specific person. Example: Any products containing BHAs (ex: salicylic acid), AHAs (ex:lactic acid), and retinol cause rosacea flare-ups and substantial irritation for me, but I know of many other rosaceans who use products such as the Murad acne line that contain those ingredients and have great results. I highly recommend that you seek a consultation w/ a Dermatologist and that you switch to a hypo-allergenic, fragrance-free skincare regime. Products containing few ingredients are best. Also don't scrub or rub your facial skin. HTH Smile

Hi same goes, I have rosacea and I'm not even European or fair...so for the longest time I couldn't figure out why I was always flushed in my cheeks, and especially in blotchy patches, not some nice blush like appearance.

My regular doctor wasn't the one who told me, the family doctor referred me to a dermatologist and about like 2 months later I got my first appt. and she told me it was rare for my background and all, but I had rosacea.

If you do have rosacea then she/he will recommend stuff, and tell you to stay away from alcohol, spices, excessive sun exposure depending on your special case.

ALSO, if you DO have it then you can look for rosacea friendly products. Even come back here and post asking advice from rosacea 'patients' like myself :P

In either case I recommend you see the doc, you might as well spend your money on the right prods. for you! Otherwise you may just aggravate the situation. If it turns out and you're fine then take all the other non-rosacea suggestions/advice you want to from everyone. HTH.
