I just wanted to share this cute picture my friend had sent me. Not sure if it's her puppy. But the puppy looks guilty of something but how can anyone get mad at him. |

OMG! He is sooooo cute! You're right ... how COULD anyone get mad at him! But, I gotta say, my experience with puppies tells me that's a "I just pooped on the rug" look if ever I saw one! |

Awwww!! Even if this puppy ate my best pair of shoes and peed all over the house, I could never be mad at that face!

Hi Tosca! I actually didn't house break him, my mom did. she never did it before but she is so good at it! bo only had about 2 accidents before he was fully house trained. so no more sad looks from him unless he's at a strange house and then he pees (i don't know why my dog pees in some people's houses and not others, but never pees in his own???) |

I love puppy pics! Especially the evil eye they give you when they're dressed up for Halloween!
skincareaddicted - sometimes a dog pees in submission or excitement, other times to mark territory. Our dogs (intact males since we show them) never pee in the house but one day we had friends over and their Westie totally traumatized the boys. She's an older dog who totally took control over all the dogs. She also likes being on the sofa by herself and made everyone else move.
After that, my boys "marked" where she had lain. |

Lucky you, Skincareaddicted! I could never punish that face. I think it's a boy-dog thing. My sister's dog marks my house when he comes to visit. |

Rjez is right about why they pee where they do. My eskie was very young when I got him, and as such, he was very small. Although he was housetrained quickly (little genius that he is ), the staircase was a source of great terror! It took us a little bit of time to teach him to go up and down the stairs. Until we did, whenever he wanted to go outside, he would race to the top of the stairs, get scared, and PEE!!!!
I think all dog owners have stories like that. We also had to build a minor fortress around the Christmas tree to keep our husky from peeing on it! But, I still think the all time best ever was my friend's beagle. We were all at her house watching the Superbowl a couple of years ago. One of the guys was sitting on the floor. Her beagle sniffed him a few times, and before anyone realized what was going on, lifted his leg and pee'd on the guy |

I was walking to my house from my car one day, and one of my neighbors was walking her insane little dogs. (some kind of terriers, I think. -very cute but insane.) Anyway, for some unknown reason, I put my purse down on the driveway. One of dogs came over and checked it out, and then he lifted his leg and peed on my purse. Bad dog!! She was so embarrased that it was almost worth it! |
