to soothen your "eczema back": TRICERAM from Osmotics. It's a non-steroid based cream for the treatment of eczema and atopic dermatitis. It's safe to use while pregnant and nursing and may be used by both adults and children. It may be combined with prescription eczema treatments such as Protopic and topical steroid creams.
It was recommended by my family doctor to me the last time I saw him about my flared up skin. It was funny when I got home from the doctor office my eczema also left me. But I did some research about this cream just in case...I found tons of good info about eczema on dermadoctor.com along with this special cream. You may want to give it a try. Hope this helps. |

fantasia,
here is a definition from cosmetic dictionary on Paula's cosmetic cop page. (although I don't care for her critical product reviews, her dictionary can be informative) HTH
ceramides: Naturally occurring skin lipids (fats) that are major structural components of the skin's outer structure (Source: Journal of Investigative Dermatology, November 2001, pages 1126–1136). Ceramides are necessary for the skin's water-retention capacity as well as cell regulation (Source: Skin Pharmacology and Applied Skin Physiology, September-October 2001, pages 261–271).
BTW, babyfish, I ordered the Osmotics Triceram, should be coming any day now... I do feel very guilty because it's not vegan. I try and console myself of my remorse by trying to think of it more as a medication, and whenever you use medications or contact lens solutions (which I use both), they are unfortunately tested on animals by law. I don't believe osmotics test on animals, but there is a non-vegan ingredient lanolin in it. |

Sorry thoughtcrime I totally forgot to check if Triceram a vegan product when trying to be quick in posting this one.
If you don't feel right using this cream, how about giving Decleor Aromessence Rose d'Orient a try. Last time when I got eczema on my neck I rubbed this oil on those red, dry and itchy patches and it really helped too. It's that Decleor is more pricey and under Shiseido control? |

babyfish, oh please don't be sorry I already knew it wasn't vegan, but have been eyeing it for a long time... When you mentioned that it had such good efficacy it made me cave in. :P I'm eager to try it, should be coming in any day... I tried the decleor rose d'orient oil and essential balm since I got samples of it lying around, but alas those do not help my eczema. So I'll let you know how the osmotic triceram cream is in case you ever have a break out (knock on wood you never have another ) My eczema actually spread to my neck! So this will go away eventually? I'm worried that summer is coming and I won't be able to wear my favorite tops that show off back and shoulders. Anyway, thanks for your help! |
