I am 57 and my skin is in pertty good shape and I have used mostly Decleor products in the past, then wanted a change and started using Sothys but was not as happy with the firming abilities but it ould have been products I used.
I need advise on what really works for firming , tighting , increased elasticity -- I have heard Payot Desigh Visage is good, plus I am developing a "Howdy Doddy" lines in the chin area.
What is your true experience out there from other 50 year olds that look like they are in their late 30tys??? You must be using something that works!
Thanks! |

Hello Susan Mills,
I turned 50 last September. I can tell you what I feel works for me.
First of all I do have extremely dry, sensitive skin. It gets even drier and more sensitive if I use products that are not right for me, so I have to be really careful of what I put on my face. I can't use what most people do, like Vitamin C Serums, Retinol, AHA.
So, I had to look for an alternative and found essential oils really great for my skin. Especially any oil from the "Rose" family since Rose is regenerating, balancing and extremely good for aging and wrinkled skin. Also, essential oils are well absorbed by the skin, sinking right into the upper layers.
Also, for this reason I am in love with Dr. Hauschka products. All of this skin care line is made with pure botanicals. No synthetics, chemicals, additives and many products contain "Rose" in some form.
I feel that my skin is definitely more moisturized, smotther, clearer, and better than ever. A lot of fine lines that I had due to dehydration slowly went away. My skin now has a glow which I hope makes me look more youthful! |

I am uncertain of whether your skin is combination, oily, dry ... so I will base my recommendations on a normal/combo. skin type. Your concerns are those of many from the Baby Boomer generation, I assure you!
1. Cleansers: MDF Formulations Cleanser with Glycolic Acid, Cellcosmet Purifying Gel, Valmont Fresh Falls, Carita Cleansing Beauty Foam, Juvena Juvelia Cleansing & Toning Emulsion Plus.
2. Toners: DDF Aloe Toner, Cellcosmet Active Tonic Lotion, Valmont Vital Falls, Carita Comforting Beauty Lotion.
3. Treatments: Skinceuticals Serum 20 (daytime) followed by Cellex-C Advanced Hydration Complex. Nighttime: Advanced Hydration Complex followed by MD Formulations Vit-A-Plus Night Recovery Complex.
4. Moisturizers: Cellcosmet Ultra Vital or Concentrated Day & Night Creme(s), Valmont Regenera 1Cellular Restoring Nourishing Creme, Carita Daily Protective Day & Night Creme(s), or Juvena juvelia Day & Night Cremes.
5. Eyes: Cellcosmet Eye Contour Creme, Valmont Eye Contour Creme, Cellex-C Eye Contour Creme Plus (day) and Primacy Eye Balm (night). |
