I don't know why, maybe European are quite conservative or the rules of cosmetics are more strict than US or whatever, the similar drugstore products in EDS aren't sold in Europe. There are not many websites located in Europe selling these drupstore products either. Everytime when I buy something in American websites, I have to pay a lot of tax and some other extract fees as well. That is killing me!!!
Do anyone know any websites like EDS are selling drugstore products in Europe? If I buy things within EU through Internet, I don't need to pay tax and extract fee, even though the price may be a little bit higher than in US. Thank you very much for your reply. |

www.kosmetikkaufhaus-zapf.de
www.ausliebezumduft.de
Still, EDS has the best prices (i live in Austria and never had to pay custom for any EDS parcel yet). |

Thank you very much for your links. I am living in Denmark, one of highest tax countries in the world. Besides tax which is okey for me, I have to pay other extra fee which is much more than tax. Altogether, it is a lot a lot to pay. However, there are not so many good staff to choose inside the country. I hate that even though Denmark is a quite nice place to live.
Thanks again for your links. |

I hear you. I“m in Norway, and we don“t even get the benefit of being in the EU. Everything that costs more than USD 30, is subject to 25% tax, plus a customs fee and a handeling fee. |

Again, I think European are quite conservative in skincare. They mainly like nature things which help little in anti-aging skin in my opinion. They are "strange". Many websites contain mainly nature staff.
But thank you anyway. |

I agree Liangzhiz - they're SO boring.
Everyone here runs away screaming if I talk acids or actives.
Mind you we do have our quirks; donkey milk or snail serum anyone?

I'm looking for local DIY resources myself and can't find HA, ALA nor L-Ascrobic. They seem to concentrate on natural oils. The only actives I can find are C-esters and green tea concentrate. V annoying, maybe we should set up our own site. |

Hey, if it was good enough for Cleopatra...
But I agree, it's ridiculous that I have to get my makeup and skin care from overseas because they either don't sell it here in the Netherlands or it's simply cheaper to order from abroad, even with shipping costs. Fortunately I've never had to pay custom duty *fingers crossed*
I've been into DIY lately and it's impossible to find things like glycerin, zinc oxide or even decent cold pressed oils here |

Valkyrie, I've found those.
I think they're here
http://www.aromantic.co.uk/
if not I've got a long list from the past couple of days. Tell me and I'll retrace my steps.
But the GOOD NEWS here in the UK is that there's a European test case coming up about buying booze and fags from overseas and if it wins as long as we pay the local tax (from abroad) we will no longer be stung by customs here in the UK. I guess the same applies to skincare, which would make an amazing difference. |

They are there, thanks Molly. For some reason, though, American companies are generally a lot cheaper (Mountain Rose Herbs, for example), and since I'd have to pay cross-the-border shipping anyway, ordering from them is still my best option... |

Yes, it's weird having to buy everything from USA. It makes me wonder why.
WHY isnt lip fusion on sale here, for example? And why is it so expensive here?
If it werent for internet shopping, we wouldnt look so good.
But we'd have more money... |

I saw LipFusion on sale in a Sephora in Rhodes, Greece last August. It does make me wonder why a relatively small country gets all this fun stuff but we don't I don't know why Sephora pulled out the UK |

I think it's worse for us being in the UK than just about anywhere else, we seem to have the strictest customs dept in the world! Not to mention the worst postal service - I am still waiting for an EDS order that shipped on 31st October, and I bet it ain't the Canadian post holding it up! |

Oh no...forget the 'food miles', now you have me 'worrying about beauty miles''...!!!
To be fair you can get some of the brands at EDS at Space NK (who also have a website) or Harvey Nichols (who are now stocking DDF ). And I can get DIY stuff like HA serum and glycerine at the local health food shop. However, EDS prices are so much lower (sometimes half the price of Space NK) and also has a bigger range that I buy from there. I do love body stuff by companies like Ren though and mainly get from Space Nk or my favourite websitewww.beautyexpert.co.uk
ETA...OMG ...did not know about lipfusion...just looked it up on EDS £26, then looked on HQ hair...£93...!!!!!! |

Daisy - I just went into spaceNK yesterday - lovely lovely products, but I was So turned off by the huge prices.
I dont like feeling I'm paying for a label and nice packaging.. it makes me feel I'm being taken for a fool.. So I came out empty handed.
But not to worry, I popped into MAC shop a few doors down and bought two eye pencils, two lip pencils, three lippies and a lipgloss.
So I came home happy anyhow!
