Hello! I have very sensitive / allergic skin.
I am allergic to all fish, shellfish, nuts and peanuts.
I have been using Thalgo line for about one year.
It is the best line of products I have ever used.
I get much better results with Thalgo than any other
line I have tried. At the same time, I still struggle
with really dry patches around my mouth, especially above my top lip
and at the top of my nose. It is amazing how dry these patches are.
I have some success with the THalgo Descomask and
then follow this with a Thalgo moisturizing mask.
Does anyone have any other recos. for sensitive and highly
allergic skin? Thanks! |

My best choice for your sensitive skin would be Phytomer Desenitizing Mask. You could use it as a regular mask or every night soothing treatment. Yo can leave it on your dry patches all night and wash it in the morning. Phytomer is a marine based product line like Thalgo and it is also very popular among people with sensitive skin. Another suggestion would be Phytomer Neutralizing cream as a soothing moisturizer. |

Just wanted to share my experience with a Dermalogica product called Gentle Soothing Booster. In my late 20's, I started getting red patches on my face, mostly on my chin. Foundation wouldn't cover it. A couple years after this started, an aesthetician applied Gentle Soothing Booster (by Dermalogica) to my face after giving me a facial. When I arrived home later that day, I noticed the redness on my chin was gone! I walked back to the salon (up and down the hills of San Francisco) to find out what it was that made the redness go away.
The aesthetician advised me to apply moisturizer over the gentle soothing booster, and then you can apply makeup if desired. It has been so effective in treating those red patches.
I just had to share in case anybody else out there is having this problem and looking for a possible solution. Definitely worth a try!
I haven't tried the Phytomer Desenstizing Mask that Madga recommended. It may be equally as effective. |

For sensitive skin i agree the Gentle soothing booster by Dermalogica is great. It takes away the redness as well as moisturizes the skin. For cleansers i would suggest Dermalogical ultracalming cleanser. It is so gentle even for your eyes. |

I wouls stick with the Thalgo as you know your skin responds well to this and rub a little Jojoba Oil into the dry patches, I really cannot see that you would get any reaction to the Jojoba as is mild.
Just use very sparingly at first so that your skin can accept the new addition. |

For truly sensitive skin, please do a patch test with any new products. I am sure you have already been to a derm and make sure the dry patches are not dermatitis
I have really reactive skin and jojoba oil broke me out big time. I have luck with LRP toleriane cream and avene trixera so far.
Good luck! |

Hi,
I have the gentle soothing booster sample but I am not sure how to use it :S
Do I apply it all over my face and then follow with a moisturizer, or add it to the moisturizer? |

You can apply the booster over your dry areas or all over your face and THEN apply your moisturizer.

The booster can be used alone with or without moisturizer since it is already very moisturizing itself. You take the booster and just pat it onto your skin, you dont need a lot of it, only a tiny amount. Wait a couple minutes for it to absorb and dry into your face, then you can apply moisturizer over top of that. |

MarilynF: Stay with what works -> stay with Thalgo. For the very dry patches, I use either vaseline or eminence linden calendula treatment. |
