I've just been using some really cheap drugstore kind....
Everyday Minerals has a "Balancing Dust" that I want to try... Anyone have any experience with this? |
This is a rather new product from EDM and I have not tried it yet. I plan on a small order of things including my HG concealer - their multi-tasking concealer. The full size is on the site but I am waiting until I see the mini size on their site. I was told the end of the end by their CS. The minis are a great way to try things - $2.50 for eye shadows & IIRC $4.00 for concealers/finshing powders, etc.
I also have two full size finishing powders from MHM/Lumiere coming soon. It was such a great sale I could not resist! |

Can someone let me know how much carekate's Silk Dust costs, how big the container is, and if it has a sifter top? Thanks! |

Hmm.... Okay. Thanks.
They do have it available in their free sample pack.... I'm new to MMU and while I like the idea behind it, the last samples I ordered from them turned orange on me so I wanted to try out a couple different colors... Since it's either that or a concealer (and I, too, like the Multi-Tasking concealer already), maybe I'll get a sample of that this next time.. |

It comes in a blue jar with a plastic film/lide to prevent dust from escaping during the shipping. Sadly there is no sifter top so I am going to have to find another jar to hold it. CareKate recommends reusing the Jurlique one if you have got it.
The size is on par with Jurlique. So smaller than the Loreal Translucide powder but just a little bit is more than enough for one application. |

I use both Jurlique's Rose Silk Dust and Everyday Minerals' Finishing Dust. I like the Finishing Dust because it's very high quality, cheap, and it doesn't add any pigment, it just sets make up and absorbs shine. However, I like the Rose Dust because of its heavenly scent, great oil-absorbing powers, and the fact that it's so good for my skin---- I even sleep in it! |

Manslayerliz, (love your screen name!) does the Jurlique Silk Dust have a tint and/or a sifter top? I'm thinking of trying the Lavender SD. Also, I don't see the Silk Dust offered through the link at EDS -- have I missed it? |

Marci, to answer your questions, no the Jurlique Silk Dust does not have a tint, and yes it comes in a sifter jar. The dust itself looks white, actually, but it goes on completely clear which is really nice. The sifter jar however is a little on the awkward side since it's heavy and breakable. It's fine for using at home and looks nice on my bathroom counter, but when I travel I have to just make do with a small jar of the EDM Finishing Dust.
You can find the Jurlique Silk Dust if you click here and scroll down:

FYI: makeupartistschoice.com is now offering jar w/ sifter of pure rice powder for 12 dollars. I don't know anything about it, just remember *rice powder* being mentioned on this forum... |
