Or is there no such thing? Laughing I need some new brushes, primarily for eyeshadow, but I have no money to spend... I've been looking at a travelkit from Body Shop, but are these brushes any good?

Everyday Minerals has good brushes that don't cost the world. They also sell a brush kit (I believe there will be custom brush kits available next week) which is a very good deal.

Very reasonable, I'm in Europe myself. It's usually 5-12 dollars, depending on how many things you order.

I'm considering the free sample kit and the brush kit, but I don't quit sure what type of shipping I'm supposed to choose for 2 kits? And I'm also going on holiday in 1,5 weeks, so I'm not sure if the parcel will reach me before I go and I won't be back until after Christmas.

Any tips on good brushes I can buy IRL? Smile

I think you can probably just choose the small flat-rate envelope, but you can always email them if you're not sure. So far, my parcels have arrived one week after ordering, but that's no guarantee they always will, of course Smile

I've heard good things about The Body Shop brushes, but I have no experience with other brushes than EM myself. Oh wait, I do, don't buy brushes at H&M! They're synthetic and not very high quality either...

I'd also recommend you the brushes fromwww.foreverfemale.com. they are not expensive, good quality and the CS is the best.

Well, since you want to buy something IRL this may not help you, but I recently discovered Alima's makeup brushes (www.alimacosmetics.com ), and they are hands down the most luxurious brushes I have ever used. Don't be put-off by the fact that they are synthetic--- I have a lot of experience with synthetic brushes, and a top quality one will be softer and will last longer than any of the top brand brushes that use real hair, IMO. Also, the Alima eyeshadow brushes are all really affordable, and when you add the discount that EDS members get (the code is EDS10), the price is even better!^-^

As far as brushes you can buy in real life go, before I discovered Alima brushes I used to swear by Urban Decay brushes which you can buy at any Sephora, however, the prices are waaaaay steeper than Alima's.

If going with EM brushes, I suggest the premium brushes. The reg ones shed like crazy and it was a little rough on my skin. The premium brushes are great, soft and don't shed. Plus there's a lifetime warranty on those.

For the brushes you will be using every day it is worth buying premium premium brushes, MAC do exellent brushes and then for ones you will only be using every now and again I would opt for cheaper ones.
When buying my brushes I just picked up one every month so that I did not feel the cost as much.
Worth the money though as a good brush will last you a lifetime.

Thank you everyone. Laughing

I have really found a few brushes online that I want to buy, but experience with pre-Christmas mail services warns me to wait unitl I'm back from my holidays. Wink

These brushes I'm looking for are only temporary, until I see what Santa brings me for Christmas... Cool Anyway, some good budget brushes will also be good for traveling, so keep all suggestions coming!

an eyeshadow brush that no one can ever pry from me is the Sephora brush. The all over eyeshadow brush I believe? it is wonderful and one of the best investments ever!

If you're in Canada, shoppers drug mart's Quo brand is not bad at all!

For years and years I used to use cheap, synthetic brushes. I found they always fell apart so easily, especially after cleaning them. Britsles would become loose and stick to my face, some would be irritating to my sensitive skin, and at times the heads would become unglued from the base. But I just used to continue to repurchase them. Finally this year I decided to take the plunge and splurge on good quality brushes. After hearing rave reviews and after loving the cosmetic line, I decided to buy Jane Iredale brushes and all I can say is Ahhhhhhh. The natural hair and bristles are so soft on my skin. After using the JI brush the cheap brushes I used to use feel as rough as sandpaper on my skin. And my makeup goes on more evenly and just a whole lot better. It's such a huge difference.

So my suggestion is to skip the cheap brush idea and treat yourself to quality brushes. They'll last you a lifetime if cared for well so you'll end up saving $$$ in the long run. Your skin will thank you and you deserve it! Smile
