I'm a happy cat today because I just realized that I didn't have to empty my shower drain in THREE whole days...Okay, okay, before anybody calls the men in the white jackets, here's the story. My hair has been falling badly (see previous thread). I wailed here and had a lot of very good recommendations. Then Fairy Godmother Carekate came in and said: take Biotin, apply Aries oil mix to your hair, I can make you a special version with my secret ingredient...and she did! And, I've used it for 3 weeks and I haven't had to clean my shower drain in 3 days. Usually I clean it 2, possibly 3 times, during ONE shower session! So, three days (and yes, I did have showers during those days).... My DH also mentioned that there's less hair everywhere - that was what triggered me to think of the shower drain. Anyway, this is not a real review. I will do one in a few weeks but I wanted to gush out here. Thank you Carekate and ariesextreme! |

I've been having increased fall-out recently-it had stopped for a while. Amazing how one can fixate on hair when this starts to happen. Do you think I can get some if I pm Carekate-I'm getting desperate;just spend over $200 on shampoos that did nothing but dry out my hair
Forgot to ask, how much & what kind of biotin to you take? |

Cat promptly removes her hand from her lips and sits on it, and looks round sheepishly!!! |

I started taking Trader Joes supplements for hiar skin and nails and i think it's making a difference. Doesn't someone on the forum take something like that from Wal-Mart?
I need to stop picking my lips too, Agent OO-CAT.I keep meaning to make some avocado lip balm, but I dont have a container handy. |

I used to take the supplements from Wal-Mart, think I was just called HAIR. I ran out and now you've reminded me to pick up another bottle |

I don't have a Walmart near me... but my local health store has something called Skin, Hair and Nails with biotin, MSM and horsetail extract. It's pricer than the Walmart one though. Does anybody know if you can buy online from Walmart? I'm still on cloud 9 today. Next thing you'll see me do L'Oreal hair ads "because I'm worth it" and pout (but then oh no, everybody will see the bad condition of my lips!!! |

How much is that one? The one from walmart is a 30 day supply, well 30 tablets..think it was like $3 or $4. They only had one bottle when I bought mine, I should be stopping in there, would you like me to pick you up one and just mail it to ya? |

The local store one is $13 for 90 tablets (30 days). I don't really like it but I take it at lunch with food. There are other 1-day for something like $30. Thank you for the offer of picking a Walmart one - yes, please. |

Geeze, 3X's a day? I think you're suppose to take two of these or something, but I only took one a day. Will stop by and see if Wal-Mart replenished their stock. |

Lucy, there's a thread in the DIY section for oils infused with rosemary and other essential oils that are beneficial for people with hair loss. "Ariesxtreme" posted it. "CareKate", another forum member made the oil for me. She also included some of her "secret" ingredient that she uses in her version of the lash growth accelerator - there's lots of info on this. So, short answer look in the DIY thread or pm Carekate. HTH. |

Hi Agent OO-CAT. So glad to hear that the oil is helping you with your hair. I am having the same problem w/hair falling out.
I just received Carekate's hair serum today & was wondering what your routine was & how you apply the oil. I was thinking of transferring it into one of those dye bottles for easier application.
How do you apply the oil, how much do you put on, and how often? TIA! |

I am glad it is working for you Cat! As to a way of stopping yourself from picking you lips, have you tried Carrie's lip scrub and overnight treatment? It does wonders for stopping the habit, since there will be NO flakes for you to pick. Just nice smooth skin.
This post has also officially increased the lemming for CareKate's lash serum. |

Hi Leidon,
I apply the oil once per week. Usually on Sat because that's when I have time. In the morning, I shower and shampoo/condition as usual (I shampoo every other day but condition every day) and go out for a bit. I usually apply the oil after lunch - I pour a little bit in the palm of my hand, rubs my hands together and start the massaging, repeat until I don't feel any dry patches (but hair is not dripping). You're supposed to massage for 15 minutes, but I have never been able to keep it up that long. 5-7 minutes is my limit. I put on a wool hat (I live in Boston) and go out to do errands etc. I often leave the oil in until the next morning. If I'm going out, I'll shampoo it out and do a deep conditioner (Biolage in the white tub - 20 min). HTH. (Now you know Cat's Sat routine! LOL) |

I probably shouldn't be telling you this because it means that I'm losing business for myself because you'll be conserving product, but....
Please know that the MAIN THING is that you need to massage it into your scalp (because that's where the special active ingredient needs to be placed in order for it to do its thing).
You don't have to saturate your entire hair with oil in order for this to work. Of course, it's nice to work a bit of the oil through your actual hair to get the benefits of the protein nourishment and conditioning to the hair, but it isn't mandatory.
The point I'm trying to make is: address your scalp first, then work any access oil through to the ends of your hair.
Does that make sense?! |

Thanks Agent OO-CAT & Carekate for the tips. I am going to try it tomorrow evening. I can't believe that you're able to achieve results by just one application a week. I'm so excited to try it out.
Carrie, If I put the oil on more often, will that stimulate faster growth? |

I am surprised too. I think that perhaps the biotin is helping too. And, probbaly other things I don't realize but nevertheless, I'm still not cleaning my shower drain as much! Good luck! |

I've used Carekate's Hair Growth Serum 3 times now. I'm a good girl ... I keep the bottle in the refrig and apply to my fingertips, then massage into my hair. A little at a time until my entire head has a little oil. I watch tv as I'm doing this and massage for at least 15 minutes. Then I leave it on overnight.
It really feels so good ... tingling.
I use Kerastase's Bain Prevention so my hair loss was already low but I swear I will keep up with the Hair Serum. It feels so good, and you know those oils benefit hair and scalp.
I also take Andrew Lessman's Healthy Hair & Nails vitamins. It's similar to the GNC one which is popular. The main thing is to make sure you're getting 2,500mcg of Biotin. Anyway, I noticed that my nails improved dramatically in 2 weeks. Haven't noticed anything for my hair though.
I would recommend the Hair Growth Serum to anyone - even if you have tons of hair. Seriously, the smell, massage and scalp sensation is wonderful - like a mini spa experience. |

Yes. The more often you use it, the faster it'll work (the quicker you'll start to see some little hair sprout-lings). |

WOOHOO! I am definitely going to be using the oil more often then. I actually do as Agent OO Cat does. I put the oil in & then I cover it w/a plastic cap & then throw a cute hat on. One time though my daughter pulled my cap off & I was so embarrased! Oh well, a little embarrasment is a small price to pay for gorgeous hair. Thanks Carrie! |

Perhaps it's worth applying the oil to the scalp with a cotton ball. That's what Vidisha Lala does with warm olive oil that she applies to her hair (another thread). Still doing it once a week and still not having to empty my shower drain as much. Yipppieeee!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

I PM you three times, the first time I think was before Thanksgiving. I still have not heard from you. I wonder whether you get my PM. I would like to order some of your products: hair growth serum, your Pearl cream and ....I need a list from you that what you have available.
Thank you!' |
