What is the best kabuki brush you have ever used? Where did you buy it from? What makes it better than other kabukis you've used before? |

I recently purchased the kabuki/foundation combo from UGloGirl. That kabuki is simply wonderful. By far the best of the 4 others I have. It is a good size for foundation and setting powders, no shedding, fabulous texture, no funky smell.

I haven't tried a lot but I really like MAC's 182. It's one of the softest densest brushes there are and MAC's brushes really last forever, I've had brushes for 5+ years and are still as good as when I first purchased. MAC's 182 also picks up just the right amount of product so no worries with cakiness. I like it so much I'm considering picking up a second - the new LE one that's out with the MACouture collection. |

It's not exactly a kabuki, but I have recently fallen in loooooooove with Alima's powder/foundation brush #25 for both mineral make up and loose powders. I have such sensitive skin that even supposedly "nice" brushes like Chanel and Nars feel super rough and scratchy to me, so before I discovered Alima the only powder brush I had really ever enjoyed using was the more expensive one from Urban Decay. I still think my Urban Decay brush is nice, but my Alima one totally blows it out of the water. For one thing, the bristles are so soft that it make make mineral make up feel like cream going on my skin. For another thing, the Urban Decay brush is rounded, but the Alima one is more flat, so it provides a better, more even application. The handle is really nicely-shaped too and feels great in my hand. All in all, I can't believe such a great quality brush is so cheap--- only $25--- less than that after the EDS discount. |

The absolute best kabuki I've tried (and I've tried many!) is the one from PrettyPretty. It has a longer handle and is super dense and so soft. |

I was going to post about this today - I have the Bobbi Brown face kabuki brush, and I love the way it works with my Alima mineral foundation, but it ALWAYS leaves little hairs on my face. I hate that!
Does the Alima brush shed?? |

The Everday Minerals kabuki brush sheds hairs. I am using the Mac 182 now. It is very soft and has not shed any hairs. |

Clarins had a LE one that was really soft & definitely one of the best brushes I've ever used, it also came in a little red brush compact thing. But I can't remember the name of it because it was LE & I can't seem to find it anywhere now! Apart from that my 2nd fav is Nars. |

I have two Alima brushes, and so far neither of them has shed a single hair, yay!!! No breaking in period at all--- they just never shed. |

I love my Jane Iredale brushes. I don't have the Kabuki one (yet) but absolutely love the Handi brush and the eyeshadow brushes as well. I'm sure I'll be adding more to my collection with time and already have a few more in my cart ready to be pruchased in the future. They just came out with a new Kabuki brush which I have been eyeing. You should definitely check it out. |

I have the MAC 182 and it is indeed soft and full and dense. Downside - it smells! I don't know if it is the glue or what, but even after washing it three times there is still a smell.
For those of you who have UGloGirl kabuki, have you heard that Lumiere Mineral Makeup stocks the same one but for $16.00 only. I am so tempted to buy the Lumiere one because I am broke broke broke. |

Oh when I'm traveling I don't carry my "good" brushes with me as I don't wanna squash them in my bags. I've found good brushes from Gino McCray. They're sold in dodgy looking makeup shops here and they're dirt cheap. I was so surprised to find that they're so soft and work really well too! |

I'm really not happy with my Jane Iredale handi, mine sheds alot for some reason, maybe defective? And its not as soft as I thought it was going to be.
The UGG makeup and brushes sound wonderful! I've read all the raves about the UGG mineral makeup and I'm tempted to try it, were can I purchase UGG? |

Moosette, I for one think the Handi is way over-rated---- definitely not soft enough, esp. for how much it costs. After falling in love my my luscious Alima powder brush, I'm 100% convinced that a high-quality synthetic brush is way superior to any natural hair brush. I've never tried the uglogirl brush, but you can get it atwww.uglogirl.com. It's also synthetic and I've heard major raves about it, so I would expect that it would be MUCH better than your handi. Has anyone tried both the UGG and the Alima brushes? I'd love to hear a comparison! |
