Bare minerals is made by Bare Escentuals, so it's the same thing. Here on EDS we usually refer to it as BE. I don't know anything about the other brand. |

CoverFX and BE are made by two different companies, but they aren't the only companies that make Mineral Makeup ... and I'm not even sure that they are what I'd recommend first in terms of trying Mineral Makeup.
For those of us in Canada, CoverFX is a Canadian brand ... and so it's relatively easy for us to get. However, there are lots of small Mineral Makeup companies that produce great product that's not nearly so expensive as either CoverFX or BE.
BE has many supporters ... but much of it contains bismuth ... which is the ingredient that gives the makeup it's glow ... but some people are sensitive to bismuth.
The CoverFX pressed powder Mineral Makeup does not contain bismuth ... but it does contain talc ... and there are some who would like to get away from talc as well.
The beauty of mineral makeup is that minerals are inert ... and bacteria can't grow in them. That means that each and every time you use mineral makeup, it's "clean" ... unlike conventional liquid foundation which can breed bacteria very easily ... despite the chemical preservatives in it.
Mineral makeup does, however, require a "learning curve" ... because you don't apply it in quite the same way you apply conventional makeup. The key is to apply whisper-light layers of the mineral makeup ... building to "flawless finish".
Believe me, as simple as that sounds, it takes quite a while to master. The results, however, are well worth the effort!
If you have skin which is acne prone ... or subject to blackheads ... I'd recommend Mineral Makeup over conventional ones. Your skin can actually improve while using Mineral Makeup!
Hope this helps
