Hello all,
I bought the Rimmel Cool Matte 16Hr Mousse foundation the other day and I must say have been pleasantly surprised.
I am an NC40-42(MAC) and bought the Nude shade which blends in quite nicely on my skintone but is slightly a little light- so i put a bit of bronzer on top.

The mousse is very light weight, but not easily blendable if you are not wearing a primer underneath. Also it blends better with a non silicone primer (I used napoleon's auto pilot).

The coverage is moderate but you can layer it on. It feels like you are wearing nothing and it does keep your skin matte, but not overly matte. It does have some transfer, but very little. I have a really oily T zone so after 5 hours I needed a slight powder. Usually after 3 hours my makeup has completely slid off of my face!

I think I this might be more of an everyday sort of foundation, but I need more coverage at night or going out to an event.
My skin is pretty sensitive, and so far after wearing it for 2 days I haven't noticed any break outs.

Advantages:
Nice cool refreshing feeling when you first put it on, but the feeling fades after a few mins

the texture is really nice and light

the shade is not bad- I think all are on the lighter side though- if you put it on, then wait 30 mins- it seems to darken up a bit.

keeps skin matte for at least 5-6 hours (on a really oily person like me)

Feels like you are wearing nothing

$$- cheap about 10 bucks CDN, but you can find some displays that have $2 off coupons (but there is only 15ml I think so not really that cheap considering most foundations are 30ml)

Dis
coverage is light to moderate depending on how much you layer on- would be nice if it had more coverage

HTH!

Hi Safire.
I like this foundation more and more each day- I was really skeptical at first and thought I was just going to throw away 10 bucks.

One thing though, your skin has to be really well moisturized or you must wear a good primer underneath in order for the mousse to go on with out streaking or settling into dry spots and making them more obvious.

I loved it the first day- cuz i used a primer.
Hated it the second day cus I forgot the primer
and and now loving it again the third day.

Yesterday I didn't do any touchups from 9am to 7pm. My skin was really greasy though, and I had to go out immediately after work. So I had no time to reaply my makeup. But all I did was use one of those clean and clear oil absorbing sheets and placed some powder on my face. It looked like I had applied fresh foundation!
But like I said before, this will not cover everything, so you might still need concealer in some spots as well.

Yes I know what you mean, mousse foundations always over emphasise the dry/flaky parts on your face. Confused Unfortunately I hardly ever wear a primer & so I always have this problem.

Pretty much all Rimmel Foundations are awesome. I love the Stay Matte foundation and blemish concealor. They cover very well for occasional breakouts
