Well where do I start. My first concern is that I haven't seen the amazing results from the essential balm and I sooooo wanted to. I am using a fairly small amount and using it after the microfoliant (which I love ). Luckily the balm I am using is a sample and I have yet to purchase the full quantity if it ends up somehow working. What results am I supposed to be noticing? |

Roopdh,
Well, for me, it was clearer healthy looking skin in the morning. Mind you, things work differently for different people. If you are using this right (and yes, you only need a small amount and you need to really warm it between your fingers) and after a about a week of nightly use you don't think it does anything for you then it may not be suitable for you. Depending on the state of my skin, I can often see a difference over night. I do use Darphin Desincrustant lotion underneath sometimes as well (for some added help ).

Hi Roopdh...
My experiece of the balm has been very positive. Though I remember the first time I used it I did get a few more spots...skin kind of got worse before it got much much better!
Now that I have been using it on and off for over a year I think it helps put a lovely glow back on my face....its difficult to describe what it actually does but it defin. does something! I use Neroli oil under it...
Perhaps you need to give it some more time...or perhaps as Mabsy says it just isnt working for your skin type....
Good luck! |

Nikita,
Spot on! It gives your skin a glow in the morning! I just wasn't quite sure how to put it really.
The main purpose of the balm is a decongestant (which is why you do get a few spots sometimes when you start using it). I forgot to mention that I found it quite helpful around the nose area to reduce blackheads too. And I also forgot to mention that I drink a big glass of water before I go to bed. I figured that water is supposed to help you decongest your skin so I might as well use the two together. I have no idea if that reasoning even makes sense but I need to drink more water anyway so it doesn't matter
Roopdh - the sample should last you quite a while, so persevere and let us know what you think of it in the end.

I have smooth soft skin pretty much, and other than the very few pimples once a month (2 or 4 at the most) my skin is clear. However, there is like a bumpy texture to it that I see in the sunlight much more than I ever really feel it. Its kinda grainy without feeling grainy, as if there are little fatty deposits underneath the skin's outer layer.
I was thinking of getting the essential balm but am not sure if this is going to target my concerns, the microfoliant though is wonderful and is I'm sure clearing up any debris during the cleansing phase. Any recs? |
I was wondering if the essential balm can help with the matter above? Or if there is something else that might? |

Roopdh,
If those little bumps are a sign of skin congestion (which they sound like they are - but you never know) then I think it should help. But it alone won't help you. You need to combine it with regular exfoliation. Instead of using the Essential Balm on your whole face, why don't you use it just on the affected areas? That way you can use your sample for longer and will get a better idea if it's working for you.

Thank you Mabsy and Nikita!
In regards to the last post I don't know why I didn't think of only testing it on the congested areas myself, but alas you are the skincare expert
I went to a Decleor counter at the Bay yesterday (they are more expensive than EDS and so I went for a simple face to face consultation only). They told me the essential balm should be fine for my 'young' skin, if not try the ylang ylang, but I fear my skin will look dehydrated. So my question is from everyone's humble experience which of the following do you think might be best for my congested, combo skin that looks dull out of the following:
neroli oil...or...ylang ylang oil
essential balm....or...ylang ylang balm
What’s worked for you guys if you're skin is relatively the same or what do you think is best, sorry if I sound lost...but I don't play around with my skincare lines a lot (up until now that is--seeing the tons of stuff available).
Oh how I wish I could come in and see the wonderful ladies of EDS for a consultation, at least I would know they're not trying to pump one prod. line to me. |
