I started using the oil toegther with the cream cleanser and clarifyig toner just over a week ago. My forehead is my most oily area, and it has definitely started producing less oil. I get a lot of whiteheads and bumps on my forehead, because of the oiliness i think. After the first few uses they started clearing up a bit but have since then flared up. Now they seem to be disappearing in some areas and appearing in others. I'm hoping this is just my skin rebalancing itself and hopefully they will disappear soon. I've read about the 28 day skin renewal cycle, maybe I need to go through a full cycle before it really starts to clear up. I do love how light it is and how easily it gets absorbed! Smile

Hi Julsey, does this leave your skin shiny? How long does it take to absorb before you can put on your makeup? What kind of skin problems do you have? Do tell, I'm thinking about trying this line! Very Happy

Sorry for the late reply Athena, been busy with Christmas and all! It doen't leave my skin oily at all, it pretty much gets completely absorbed straight away. I have oily skin on my forehead with a few spots, and I have some blemishes on my jaw line. My skin definitely started producing less oil as soon as I started using it, and the spots have cleared up a lot too. After I apply it, I go and get dressed and then put my makeup on afterwards, it's a very nice makeup base. I would definitely recommend this along with the rest of the Dr H line. I've become addicted to their products after just a few weeks and my skin has never looked better. Good luck! Razz

I just got a sample of the normalizing day oil. How many drops do you recommend?

For me 1-2 drops is enough.
it is too oily if more than 2 drops.

I tried it this morning and apparently used too much. Easy to miscalculate using the little sample vial. I'll try again tomorrow. It does smell much nicer than my usual jojoba oil. I'm a sucker for Dr H scents.

I have been using Dr Hauschka Normalising Day Oil for about 2 years now and the way it has improved my skin, just a few drops is all you need, make sure you use a toner before hand.
I used to have very very oily skin and now my skin is normal with a little bit of oiliness.
If the Dr Hauschka is a bit overbudget then Jojoba, Vitamin E Oil or Grapeseed are all just as good, just mix in a little essential oil to scent.

I bought the trial set for oily skin. i think my skin hates oil, it left my pores very congested. My skin is so picky! The only oil that makes my pores feel not so clog is decleor, but still i try to aviod.

Since I've now used both Dr H normalizing oil and Decleor Ylang Ylang oil, I have to say I prefer Decleor, at least cosmetically. First, to me it seems to absorb faster and even feels better. Second, and even though I love all Dr H scents, the ylang ylang oil scent can't be beat. It just feels so much more comforting going on. I'm dying to try the ylang ylang balm now. I'd also like to try Clarins Lotus oil.

I've used all three - Dr.H, Clarins and Decleor. Clarins didn't work for me AT ALL. I don't think you can really compare the Decleor and the Dr.H because although they're supposed to do the same I realize they represent different stages of oiliness. For example if you're very oily you'd go for the Decleor, but after you finish one bottle of that your skin will most likely be normalised and Dr.H would be the next stage to maintain the results and give your skin more moisture. That's how I feel about it personally. The Clarins never ever soaked into my face and I think it broke me out. Also you're not supposed to use the Clarins during the day - it's recommended for night time use so it won't give you any normalization for daytime. However the Clarins gets better reviews on MUA. Right now I'm using Jurlique's and that's even MORE normalizing, it also smells very strongly of chamomile. It's also greasier than all three of the above.

Sormuimui, you say the Jurlique oil is greasier than the rest - does it sink in quickly though, or does it leave your face looking greasy?

It actually doesn't leave my face that greasy so it does sink in but it's generally heavier than the other two and more moisturizing. I find it even heavier than my camellia seed oil which is what I use currently in the PM for more moisture.

Thanks Sormuimui, I might give this one a go. I'm thinking about getting some Sea Buckthorn oil and adding that to my Dr H oil. I have been reading up on it and it sounds like something anyone's skin could use - it has been used in Asia and Russia for centuries to treat all sorts of skin problems, it contains carotenoids, is higher in vitamin E than wheat germ oil, and contains omega 3 and 6, plus lots of other goodies. Will try and get a bottle of this stuff

Julsey - The thing I like most about the Jurlique is the smell, it's SOOOO nice, such a soothing floral smell, I'm bad at pinpointing floral smells - chamomille? chrysanthemums? I don't know but it smells like a beautiful garden, definitely beats the Decleor and the Dr.H. However I personally don't think I'll be able to use the Jurlique in the winter so for me 30mL would never be finished before the expiration date (it has about a 2 yr shelf life similar to Dr.H).

I do love the Jurlique scents, I wish they would stick around on your face for longer. I'll try getting a sample of their oil if that's possible, I'm happy with my Dr H oil for the moment so I don't want to competely replace it

I go back and forth between the Decleor Ylang Ylang oil and the Dr. Hauschka's normalising oil. I use 2 drops with either product.

If that's the case I'd probably use Dr.H in the AM and Jurlique in the PM or one in summer and one in winter. I'm in HK right now where I'm out with makeup for about 16 hours everyday and I use Jurlique in the AM and yet I don't feel oily so it does do a good job in dryer weather.

I was using Dr H Norm. Oil before I got into Zenbiotic. I found that it did help normalize my skin but I was still experiencing dry patches. (weird since I have oily skin, right?) And I did see improvement in my skin overall. (But I've gotten even better results with Zenbiotic. (Sorry Dr. Hauschka)).

Anyway, what I wanted to add to this thread is that I found that the more damp my skin was with the Clarifying toner upon application of the oil, the better is soaked into my skin.

And I LOVED the smell. I still enjoy it when I use the toner and oil on my eczema outbreaks. When I put it onto my hands I can't keep them away from my nose! Laughing

When you guys are talking about the Decleor Ylang-Ylang Oil, do you guys mean the Decleor Aromenssence Ylang Ylang purifying concentrate for oily skin? Just wanted to make sure I will be trying the right item. Thanks Very Happy

yes, the oil does work.
it normalizes my oily T-zone so that it does not shine anymore in the morning when I wake up. BUT! the oil makes my skin feel sooo uncomfortable and dehydrated!!! Shock
I literally feel any facial movement being tight and uncomfortable when the oil is on.
so I don`t like it that much.

I used NDOil for years, and it worked well for my skin..okay..it never cleared my acne completely, but REALLY decreased my oil production.

The only problem is that in the last few years they have added COco butter oil as a preservative,,which is really heavy and seemed to clog my pores....lets just say I was not impressed by Dr. Hauschka when I discovered this..

I use 2 drops daily after Clarifying Toner. It does help to reduce the oiliness. Occasionally, I'll mix 1 drop in the Cleansing Clay Mask. Since very little is needed, one bottle will last a long time.

I used both decleor's ylang ylang and dr. hauschka, decleor is waaay better. I have dry skin and oily t-zone but hauschka leaves my face super oily+shiny that my makeup cant stay on, whereas decleor absorbs into my skin.
