This is the mother of all deliveries...My sister delivered her baby by herself in the back seat of the car as her husband was driving her to the hospital !!!! It happened Saturday, the 23rd, and even as she was leaving for the hospital, she wasn't really sure that it was the real thing...her due date was the 29th of the month. She had a baby boy...7lbs 4oz--both are doing great. When they pulled up to the hospital with the baby in her arms, they were greeted with a round of applause from the doctor and nurses who were waiting She and the baby went home Christmas Eve and got to spend Christmas morning at home with her husband & 2 y.o. daughter
Merry Christmas, everyone |

That reminds me of something:
When I was pregnant and checking out hospitals, I went around asking other moms where their kids were born. This one lady answered,
"Mile marker 14." |

Jala, that is phenomenal! I am so happy for her everything turned out OK and that it wasn't her first baby - I think that would've just freaked the poor girl out, but since she'd delivered before, she probably felt like she knew what she was doing (obviously!). She is amazing - I'm so impressed with her - I would've probably arrived in a catatonic state!
Her little boy shares my Pa's birthday! Its a good birthday to have. What did she name him? My Pa, who just turned 80 years old on the 23rd, was named Carson by his Mom. He was a beautiful child! |

My sister's baby was born on Tremont St. in Boston and we were joking with her afterward saying she could have at least had him on Newbury Street (a very ritzy, upscale shopping area & neighborhood in Boston )
MermaidGirl-She still can hardly believe it happened! Happy Birthday to your Pa! Yep, the baby's a cutie, alright...she named him Thomas |
