The most recent winner of Australian Idol was an Irish man who has moved to Australia. He has the most incredible voice and I purchased his CD containing all the songs he sang during the competition. The most amazing thing was that everyone I visited over the holiday period, young and old, had also purchased his CD and were playing it constantly.
I think his voice is one in a million and a shame overseas people will not have heard it. |

| Bushy, I never realized there was an Australian Idol contest! Do you know if it's run the same way as American Idol...viewer's calling in to vote,etc? What is his name...I'd like to to check it out...thanks! |

Oh Bushy I agree...I think he is appreciated accross all age brackets.
And yes Jala it is run exactly the same as American Idol. His name is Damien Leith |

You can listen to parts of some of his songs on that website and see a couple of shorts clips. |

bushy, I checked out his performances a few weeks back on YouTube and OMG I was floored by his voice. For someone without any opera training (I believe) he did an incredible version of Nessun Dorma. I should have sussed out the CD when I was home for Chrissy.  |

| I purchased his CD through Sanity and it is good value because it also comes with a DVD of all his performances. |
