This is a new concealer (read about it in the New Beauty magazine) and like the YSL Touche Eclat but much less $$ (it's $25.00) Has anyone tried it yet? I'm really tempted... (even though I'm on a "No Buy") It comes in a variety of shades (light yellow, dark yellow, light peach, dark peach, etc.). Love to hear some feedback if anyone has used it! I use the Jane Iredale Circle Delete and love it. Thanks.

I saw Active Light on the Jane Iredale site the other day:

http://www.janeiredale.com/whatsnew/whatsnew.html

I'm curious, too. I have Touche Eclat and really like it, but I'm a real fan of JI's mineral products.

Has anybody tried the "active Light" since January? I need an illuminator/concealer and hesitating between YSL touche eclat and Jane Iredale...

I actually went ahead and ordered this after my initial post. I like it. I would call it more of a light concealer than an illuminator, I got the light peach (to go with my light peach Circle Delete). I use it over the Circle Delete for a little extra coverage that doesn't look heavy handed. Moisturizing (not as much as the Circle Delete). Nice for mid-day touch up too.

CrazyForClooney, thanks for your post! So you don't think I could use it to illuminate my face (you know, the way you could use the Touche Eclat)? And Light Peach - is it the fairest color with pink undertones, or is it just a darker color than light yellow (but still with warm undertones)? Thank you!

To "illuminate" face, no. Touche Eclat or Guerlain's Issima Precious probably better. The Light Peach is not a darker yellow. I used to use yellow concealer for my newly developed dark circles but have found the peach to be better for me. HTH! Smile

Crazyforclooney, I don't suppose you know which shade would be nearest to the original Touche Eclat? I love that product and it's just my colour but the JI product is half the price.

Any more reviews / updates. I'm considering the Active Light as well as Jane Iredale's Circle Delete. I'm not sure about color - thinking light peach in the Active Light. But in Circle Delete looking at the Yellows - the peach looks too intense - might not go on like that. I hope to try it by going to Nordstrom's or somewhere that carries the line.

I currently am not wearing any concealer as they all seem to "enhance" my crow's feet fine lines.

I like the texture and coverage of the active light, but I find that the brush dispenser is difficult to use. When you twist the base to load the brush, you get a blob at the side instead of distributed throughout the brush. I use a separate concealer brush to apply, so it would be a better product if it was in a squeeze tube.

Yes! I agree. I ordered this a few months back, but haven't really used it much. I found the applicator was messy and since I didn't use the whole "glob" it dispensed, it dried up a bit on the brush and wasted alot of product. I bought it in Light Peach. It did do a decent job of brightening, but I had to layer it over top of my regular concealer as I don't remember the coverage being enough on its own.

I've been using this daily since March -- I have the dark peach color and I consider myself pretty pale (but I have darker purple-ish circles under my eyes). I love this, but it's the only concealer I have used, other than applying my JI MMU under my eyes with a concealer brush. I started out using 4 twists of the tube to get enough product, but found that some of the product settled into creases. So now I use 3 twists and it's been an improvement. The 3-4 twists gave enough product for both eyes, IME. I think the attached brush is good for initially lightly applying the product to the eye area, but not for blending it in (I use fingers for that). I do like the brush for reaching product lightly into inner and outer corners of eyes. Also, something in the formula really helps to make my lines look more relaxed. I have not broken out from using this. I like the product and will definitely repurchase.

I agree with Moonstarr and english3222. The dispenser stinks and is wasteful. I'm sure it's not the most sanitary option either because some product always remains on the brush. I end up putting it on my little finger and then applying it. Be careful not to click out too much.

I got light peach, which is a pretty good color match for me, but maybe a little too light. As for the product itself, I'm not crazy about it. It is hard to blend, it does not cover as well as other concealers, and it settles into fine lines after an hour or two. It's moisturizing but a bit chalky. I will use up (maybe), and will not purchase again.
